NetApp is looking for an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join our Core File System storage development team. NetApp CSDM( Core software data management) team is at the centre of developing and enhancing the core file system for enterprise class data storage solution specifically designed for large scale on premise, public and private cloud deployments. This is a great opportunity to work on a high-powered team delivering an industry changing product within an extremely high growth sector of the tech industry.
Job Requirements
As a Software Engineer you will work as part of a team of skilled system engineers accountable for participating in the development, debugging, maintenance & testing. As part of the Research and Development function, system software engineers focus on enhancements to existing products as well as new product development, needing a deep working knowledge of file systems..
Essential Functions:
- A major part of your responsibility will be to apply current skills and use up-to-date technologies to complete projects as part of the development cycle including:
- Coding, Design, Development, Debugging, Reliability & Research.
- You will participate in technical discussions within the immediate group and across functions, where evaluating and executing design and development plans for products are reviewed.
Skill Requirements
- Experience in system software design and development using c, c++
- In depth knowledge of Unix/Linux System Programming, Multithreaded programming.
- Storage Domain experience is a plus.
- File system experience is a plus.
- Should have strong conceptual understanding of OS internals.
- Strong algorithms, data structures and multi-threaded programming expertise are required.
- Ability to work & partner with other engineers.
- Ability to work on complex issues where data analysis requires an in-depth evaluation of variable factors & high problem-solving skills.
Education
- A minimum of 4+ years of experience is required. 5 to 8 years of experience is preferred.
- A Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science, a Master degree, or a PhD; or equivalent experience is required.
- Demonstrated ability to have completed multiple, moderately complex technical tasks.
