Software Development Manager - Routing Platform Software

As a Software Development Manager, will be responsible for leading a team of engineers in design, development, test, and deployment of platform software team. Experience in managing talented engineering team for platform software design and development, working with cross functional teams like HW teams for board bring-up; test engineering to ensure the quality of the platform software; know the processes for productizing new HW is required. Relevant experience in leading/managing networking product development is essential. Any prior experience with HW development will be big plus.

Key Responsibilities:

Responsible for the over-all systems product development life cycle including customer support.

Management and execution against project plans and delivery commitments;

Maintain productive engagement/connect with engineering team & Manage the day-to-day activities of the engineering teams

Management of departmental resources, staffing, mentoring, and enhancing and maintaining best-of-class global engineering teams

Work closely with the engineers and other engineering managers to architect and develop the best technical design and approach

Report on status of development, quality, operations, and system performance to senior management

Proficiency with device drivers, system bring-up, FreeBSD/Linux internals.

Preferred Experience with optics, WAN side technologies

In-depth knowledge of data networking, e.g., TCP/IP, Ethernet, and Routing etc.

Understanding of Ethernet, OTN, SONET etc. technologies desired

Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Strong in C, C++ programming, OO analysis & design, data structures and system debugging skills.

Good understanding of firmware, hardware level details for Optics, PCIe, SPI, I2C, Retimers, FPGA, CPLD, MDIO, Flash Driver

Prior software development experience on networking products would be a plus.
