nAbout the role:
n
nAs a Software Development Engineer in Test, become a part of a cross-functional development team engineering experiences of tomorrow.
n
nYou will be part of a scrum team and work closely with them to enable and support good quality practices and build integration and system tests, both manual and automated. The goal is to ensure quality code releases that are highly resilient, scalable, and performing optimally on our state-of-the-art distributed infrastructure.
n
Responsibilities
n
- Test automation
n- Create white/black box test cases and develop target test applications based on identified use cases
n- Work closely with developers to create comprehensive test plans using the developers design spec. or bug description
n- Building/harnessing existing testing tools and automated testing frameworks written in Java and/or Python
n- Understand product requirements and ensure the engineering implementation covers all of them
n- Participate in design and code reviews, software maintenance releases, and documentation of test cases and results
n- Evaluate and test new product features according to business and functional requirements while identifying potential risks
n- Be involved in functional (integration, system) and non-functional (usability, performance, security) testing of Akamais products
n- Develop new approaches to solve problems identified during Quality Engineering activities; Influence development teams with regards to prioritizing testability and operationalization aspects of the modules; collaborate with team members on testing activities
n- Drive test efforts for major releases or within Agile sprints
n- Work in tandem with other engineers to build advanced automated frameworks to deliver and exercise our world-class applications

Requirements
n
- Bachelors degree in computer science, Electronics or related discipline
n- Work experience in Python and Selenium web driver UI
n- Good knowledge of Internet technologies: RESTful Web Services and HTTP proxies, HTTP and HTTPS Protocols, web servers and databases (SQL), and how to test them
n- Good command of testing different QA Methodologies (black-box, white-box and gray-box) for both web UIs and backends, both manually and automated
n- Experience in identifying and formulating test cases
n- Experience in testingREST-based API interfaces and Service-Oriented Architectures both manually and automated
n- Good command of Selenium WebDriver and TestNG, including Page Object design patterns and Selenium Grid configurations
n- Passion for finding defects and breaking things is a must
n- Fluency in English

Desirable
n
- Knowledge of RestAssured, Selenide, or similar test libraries
n- Experience in using testing tools like FireBug, PostMan, Charles Proxy or similar
n- Experience with GIT source code management
n- Highly responsible, self-disciplined, self-motivated, able to work with little or no supervisionn
n- Good written and verbal communications skills
