The Team
Oracle Commerce is developing the next-generation buying experience for B2B customers on a top-tier commerce platform that provides a comprehensive solution for self-service purchasing. This includes industry-leading search, personalization, pricing, promotions, generic payment connectors, and a modern integration framework. The platform fully leverages the capabilities of the Fusion Suite and Oracle CPQ. We are seeking highly talented architects to lead the architecture and design of a scalable, high-performance, integrated, comprehensive, and robust framework for our market-leading commerce solution.
What to expect
As an Architect/Senior Principal Engineer, the candidate will be responsible for understanding business requirements, abstracting them into generic product requirements applicable to a broader market, and designing a configurable, extensible, scalable, and robust solution for the global market. The role involves providing technical solutions to enhance existing applications, designing architecture for new applications according to functional and non-functional requirements, and ensuring the feasibility of designed solutions by coding or piloting key modules. The candidate should be agile and innovative in solving business problems. Additionally, this position involves designing and facilitating the development of future state architecture and ensuring its adoption across project teams. The candidate will provide technical leadership to other software developers through mentoring, code reviews, and presentations. This role requires working on multiple highly complex projects, necessitating in-depth technical knowledge of two or more cloud architecture approaches and mastery of multiple cloud technology stacks. The candidate will be expected to lead, consult, or oversee engagements across product teams on various projects.
Positions in this function are responsible for delivering high-level technical work to support the development of the company's products, tools, platforms, and services. The individual must operate within established methodologies, procedures, and guidelines, applying their knowledge of principles and techniques to solve technical problems. It is essential to collaborate closely with other functions to understand customer needs and develop product roadmaps. The work is self-directed and not prescribed, involving an understanding of the customer's business challenges and creating quick prototypes to address these issues with enhanced features and process flows, incorporating advanced technology components.

The candidate must be experienced in various architecture patterns, have participated in the full Software Development Life Cycle (requirements, Design, Development, Deployment, and Support), Be Able to Communicate Solution Requirements and Architecture with Technical and Non-technical Stakeholders, and Possess a Working Knowledge of Project Management Methodologies. This role also requires outstanding communications skills.
Basic Qualifications
- BS or MS in Computer Science or in a relevant Engineering discipline
- Solid understanding of Object-Oriented design and concepts
- Very strong technical expertise in Cloud technologies, Microservices, web services (e.g., RESTful, GraphQL), Containerization, Java/J2EE, CI/CD build tools, NodeJS, AJAX, SQL and Oracle (RDBMS), AI/ML and GenAI
- Knowledge of cloud computing, including virtualization, hosted services, multi-tenant cloud infrastructures, storage systems, and content delivery networks
- React JS Experience is a plus
- Proficiency in data structures, algorithms, and software design
- Experience working with Generative AI and/or Machine Learning
- Innovative and creative with technologies to build high performing web services and software applications. Proven record for working on scalable applications
- Familiarity with distributed systems, databases, caching technologies, web protocols, Web services technologies
- Experience in Agile practices and methodologies such as Test-Driven Development and Scrum
- Passion for building scalable, global, complex systems to solve problems with proven ability to deliver high quality software
- Excellent communication and analytical skills
- Self-directed and capable of working effectively in a highly innovative and fast-paced environment
- Deal well with ambiguous/undefined problems; ability to think abstractly
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Oracle Fusion Applications and Oracle tools is a plus
- Proven expertise in solution engineering and technical consulting, including architecting and implementing new technology and solution initiatives.
- Proficiency in core Data Science techniques, including experience with recommendation engines, data pipelines, distributed machine learning, data analytics, data visualization software, and deep learning frameworks.
- Knowledge of data warehousing concepts, including data warehouse technical architectures, infrastructure components, ETL/ELT and reporting/analytic tools and environments.
- Excellent customer-facing communication skills.
