Design, implement, deploy and maintain Session Border Controller (SBC) product platform functionality in various Virtualization and Cloud Native environments.

Detailed Job Description

As part of SBC team, the engineering resource will be working on design, implementation and deployment of SBC product in multi core environments like Virtualization and Cloud Native environments like OpenShift, VMWare Tanzu, Baremetal, Public Clouds.

  • Architect, Design, implement and maintain platform and data path functionality for SBC product variants in a verity of multicore environments like Virtualization and cloud native environments.
  • Bring up the product in Virtualization and Cloud Native Environments
  • Scale the Performance and Capacity of the telco/networking applications in virtualization and cloud native environments.
  • Maintain and enhance existing platform functionality in response to needs.
  • Collaborate closely with hardware and software engineering teams throughout the release cycle.
  • Write functional and design specifications as required.
  • Contribute to evolving architecture, discussions and solutions.

Job Requirements

  • Prior experience in development of high-capacity data path networking/Telco applications in Virtualization and Cloud Native Environment is a must.
    • Must understand the hypervisors functionality, configuration and performance tunings (KVM, VMWare, libvirt)
    • Must have working experience in various network IO modes like SRIOV, PCI-PT and Paravirtual. Understand the configuration differences between SR-IOV networking vs PCI-PT vs Paravirtual networking.
  • Working experience with DPDK framework.
    • Should have strong understanding on the design and implementation of DPDK modules (i.e framework & poll mode drivers) and the DPDK use cases
    • Working experience to integrate and build telco/networking applications with DPDK
    • Able to troubleshoot the issues in DPDK code base including poll mode drivers
  • Network troubleshooting skills and familiarly with VLAN, VXLAN, IP-IP, BGP, OpenVSwtich, VMware NSX, Load balancer technologies.
  • Strong knowledge of Operating System fundamentals and computer network/communication (L2, L3 layer protocols) is a must
  • Working experience in OpenStack and Kubernetes environments is a must
  • Working experience in large scale telco applications deployed in commercial CNEs (i.e OpenShift, VMWare Tanzu, Public Clouds) is desirable
    • Working experience in setting up CNE platform in various network IO modes (i.e SRIOV, PCI-PT and PV modes)
    • Expertise in bringing up large scale telco/networking applications on CNE platforms
    • Expertise in scaling the performance of the telco/networking applications in CNE environment
  • C/C++, Python, Terraform, Shell Scripting experience is a must
  • The working experience in Agile methodology is a must
  • The candidates must possess excellent oral and written communication skill and must be able to work independently.
