Software Developer 3

Design, develop, troubleshoot and debug software programs for databases, applications, tools, networks etc. As a member of the software engineering division, you will apply basic to intermediate knowledge of software architecture to perform software development tasks associated with developing, debugging or designing software applications or operating systems according to provided design specifications. Build enhancements within an existing software architecture and occasionally suggest improvements to the architecture.
Duties and tasks are standard with some variation displays understanding of roles, processes and procedures. Performs moderately complex problem solving with assistance and guidance in understanding and applying company policies and processes. BE degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 3+ year of software engineering or related experience.

Engineer to assist in improving the quality of Linux and virtualization products as it relates to running Oracle products on Linux and in the Cloud. This includes defining, designing and developing tests and open source kits, debugging and troubleshooting of issues in the Linux / Oracle virtualization/Cloud stack QA of Oracle Linux, UEK and Oracle virtualization Releases used for the Cloud and on-prem. Linux and Oracle expertise is expected, as well as experience on one or more Linux distributions and experience with Oracle VM, KVM. Experience in design and development would be beneficial.

3+ years relevant experience in a software development environment
Knowledge of cloud solutions & tools
Familiarity with virtualization solutions like KVM
Must have knowledge of Linux Operating Systems concepts
Proficiency in Linux :
Kernel subsystems basics & Networking
Linux Userspace packages/rpms & tools familiarity
OS Automation and Integration: scripting with shell, Python,PERL, container technologies
Experience working with an agile methodology & tools
Excellent architectural skills
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex information in a clear, concise manner to all audiences
Self-starter with a quick learning style and ability to work independently
Candidate must be comfortable in a virtual/global team environment
Self motivated with the can-do attitude. Proven track record to deliver quality solution in a fast paced environment & timely delivery of the project
