Building off our Cloud momentum, Oracle has formed a new organization - Oracle Health Applications & Infrastructure. This team focuses on product development and product strategy for Oracle Health, while building out a complete platform supporting modernized, automated healthcare. We are looking for hands-on engineers with expertise and passion in solving difficult problems in all areas of software engineering: distributed systems, identity, security, observability, and user experience.

This is a greenfield opportunity to design and build new cloud centric applications from the ground up. We are growing fast, still at an early stage, and working on ambitious new initiatives. An engineer at any level can have significant technical and business impact here. We are seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer who enjoys building complex, highly technical products and services from ground up. As a member of the Patient Portal organization, you will help us define the future of services used daily by both customers and internal teams.Who are we looking for

We are looking for engineers with distributed systems experience. You should have experience with the design of major features and launching them into production. You've operated or supported high-scale services and understand how to make them more resilient. You work on most projects and tasks independently.

You are technically strong and get a lot done you've worked on highly available, scalable, and redundant services. You've built services for rich tools and web apps for use by customers and internal teams. You have experience with observability tools like Spunk, New Relic. You understand that simple systems are easier to operate and fix. You can balance speed and quality with iteration and incremental improvements. You've made life easier for other developers and have motivated your teams to make both process and service improvements with your ability to automate and instrument properly to get the right data. You understand operational excellence and how to instill a culture of being dedicated with your teammates.Qualifications

  • 6+ years of experience in software industry working on design, development and delivery of highly scalable performant, and secure services/modules.
  • Experience in developing customer-focused architectures and restful web services. Understanding of Micro Services architecture and API design
  • Experience in architecture, engineering, deployment, and operational management of services
  • Strong working knowledge in Java or similar JVM based OO languages
  • Work with modern JavaScript libraries and frameworks such as React, Angular, and Bootstrap
  • Experience with container orchestration like Kubernetes/Docker Swarm/Mesos
  • Experience driving security reviews, documentation, UX reviews, and working with Product Managers through the entire launch process
  • Experience with at least one scripting language for automating tasks, proof of concept work, or command line tools
  • Good understanding of testing methodologies.
  • Experience with observability tools like Spunk, New Relic, etc.
  • Good understanding of versioning tools like Git/SVN.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge/Experience with Ruby on Rails
  • Hands-on experience developing services on a public cloud platform (e.g., AWS, Azure, Oracle)
  • Work with large volumes of data and logging
  • Understanding of key performance indicators and how to dig into them
  • Experience and understanding of multi-AZ and regional data centers
  • Building continuous integration/deployment pipelines with robust testing and deployment schedules
  • Experience working with internal customers and translating requests into prioritized work or features

Career Level - IC3

  • As a member of the software engineering division, you will take an active role in the definition and evolution of standard practices and procedures. Define specifications for significant new projects and specify, design and develop software according to those specifications.
    • Design and build distributed, scalable, and fault-tolerant software systems.
    • Build cloud services on top of the modern OCI infrastructure.
    • Participate in the entire software lifecycle, from design to development, refining the architecture by providing feedback and suggestions, reviewing code, managing releases, driving DevOps, to quality assurance, and to manage operations of the software assets in production.
    • Invest in the best engineering and operational practices upfront to ensure our software quality bar is high.
    • Leverage a plethora of internal tooling at OCI to develop, build, deploy, and troubleshoot software.
