The Social Studies Teacher will be responsible for delivering engaging and rigorous instruction, assessing student progress, and contributing to the overall success of our academic programs.
Instructional Planning and Delivery:- Develop and implement comprehensive lesson plans aligned with state and national standards.
Utilize a variety of teaching methods and instructional materials to accommodate diverse learning styles and abilities.- Incorporate technology and innovative practices to enhance student learning and engagement.
Classroom Management:- Create and maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment that supports student learning and development.
Manage classroom behavior effectively, addressing any issues promptly and professionally.- Foster a respectful and collaborative classroom culture.
Assessment and Evaluation:- Assess and monitor student progress through regular formative and summative assessments.
Provide timely and constructive feedback to students and parents regarding academic performance and behavior.- Utilize assessment data to inform instruction and support individualized student needs.
Professional Development and Collaboration:- Participate in professional development opportunities to stay current with educational trends and best practices.
Collaborate with colleagues to share resources, strategies, and ideas to enhance the educational experience at Winmore Academy.- Contribute to curriculum development and school improvement initiatives.
Student Support and Engagement:- Support students social, emotional, and academic growth through mentorship and guidance.
Organize and participate in extracurricular activities and school events that promote student engagement and community involvement.- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and guardians to support student success.
Bachelor's degree in Social Studies, Education, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).- Valid teaching certification
Proven experience teaching social studies at the [specific grade level] level.
- Strong knowledge of social studies curriculum, instructional strategies, and assessment methods.
