Full job description
The Site Planning Engineer is responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing construction projects from conception to completion. This role involves developing detailed project plans, managing schedules, and ensuring that projects are completed on time, within scope, and within budget. The Site Planning Engineer will work closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure efficient project execution and adherence to all relevant regulations and standards.
Roles and Responsibilities :
Project Planning and Scheduling:
- Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and schedules for construction projects.
- Use project management software to track project progress and update schedules.
- Coordinate with project managers and other stakeholders to ensure alignment on project timelines and deliverables.
Resource Management:
- Identify and allocate resources (labor, materials, equipment) required for project execution.
- Monitor resource utilization and adjust plans as necessary to ensure efficient use of resources.
Site Coordination:
- Oversee on-site activities to ensure compliance with project plans and schedules.
- Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and other stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of materials and completion of tasks.
- Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress and address any issues or delays.
Quality Control and Compliance:
- Ensure that all construction activities comply with relevant regulations, standards, and quality guidelines.
- Implement quality control procedures and conduct inspections to ensure high standards of workmanship.
- Address any non-compliance issues and implement corrective actions.
Risk Management:
- Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimize project delays and cost overruns.
- Monitor project risks and adjust plans as necessary to address emerging issues.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain detailed project documentation, including plans, schedules, progress reports, and change orders.
- Prepare regular status reports for project managers and stakeholders.
- Ensure that all project documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and easily accessible.
Communication and Collaboration:
- Facilitate effective communication between project teams, stakeholders, and clients.
- Participate in project meetings and provide updates on project status, risks, and issues.
- Collaborate with other engineers, architects, and consultants to ensure cohesive project execution.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a Site Planning Engineer or in a similar role within the construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, materials, and equipment.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Knowledge of relevant regulations and industry standards.
