The Opportunity
We're looking for the Wavemakers of tomorrow.
Alphawave Semi enables tomorrow's future by accelerating the critical data communication at the heart of our digital world from seamless video streaming to AI to the metaverse and much more. Our technology powers product innovation in the most data-demanding industries today, including data centers, networking, storage, artificial intelligence, 5G wireless infrastructure, and autonomous vehicles. Customers partner with us for mission-critical data communication, our innovative technologies, and our proven track record. Together, we enable the next generation of digital technology.
What You'll Do
- System Modeling: Collaborate with Analog engineers to develop and optimize UCIe and HBM architectures using MATLAB (SerDes, RF, Simulink, DSP, and Communications toolboxes) and Python. Build behavioral models for UCIe/HBM IP analog and digital blocks to enable system-level signal and power integrity analysis and IP architecture optimization.
- Signal Impairments Modeling: Capture critical signal impairments such as jitter (DCD, IQ, PSIJ, RJ) and block-level non-linearity. Develop system-level models for Tx and Rx circuits, including IO, FFE, pre-amplifiers, CTLE, PLLs, de-skew circuits, samplers, clock paths, and data paths.
- Model Correlation: Validate and refine system models by correlating results with SPICE simulations and lab characterization data to ensure high accuracy and reliability.
- IBIS/AMI Modeling: Generate IBIS/AMI models using MATLAB Simulink and validate them with ADS and SPICE to ensure robust performance.
- HSPICE Testbench Collaboration: Work with Analog engineers to create HSPICE testbenches that accurately capture analog block behavior for system-level modeling.
- Methodology Innovation: Continuously innovate and refine methodologies for jitter and non-linearity modeling to maintain industry-leading capabilities.
- Core Fundamentals: Leverage a strong foundation in analog circuits, communication systems, statistical and jitter modeling, equalization, clock and data path jitter tracking, phase interpolators, PLLs, and calibration techniques.
- Signal and Power Integrity Expertise: Apply deep knowledge of SI/PI concepts across die-level, interposer, and package-level domains to drive comprehensive system analyses.
- Advanced Package Design: Collaborate with the packaging team to innovate unique layout structures, perform SIPI modeling, and extract S-parameters using tools like HFSS, Raptor, and Clarity.
- Die-Level Power Integrity: Partner with the EMIR team to conduct die-level PDN analysis, generate CPM models, and perform system-level PI simulations to optimize power delivery across interposer, package, and PCB designs for UCIe and HBM architectures.
What you'll need:
- If you have strong fundamentals in signal and power integrity, jitter modeling, analog circuits, and communication systemsand are passionate about the responsibilities listed abovewe encourage you to apply. Even if you lack direct experience in some areas, a strong willingness to learn and grow is highly valued.
- We are looking for a young, energetic, and self-driven individual who thrives in a collaborative and culturally harmonious team environment. The ideal candidate will create a positive, learning-oriented atmosphere, inspire teammates, and push boundaries to achieve excellence.
- If you're passionate about SIPI engineering, eager to innovate, and ready to drive breakthrough advancements, we'd love to hear from you!
