You will be working as Service/ Commissioning Engineer and will be part of Process Automation business area for Marine & Ports division based in Bangalore, India. In this role you will be reporting to Service Manager and you will be primarily responsible for executing service work with low to medium complexity according to work instructions and in accordance with ABB standard processes, quality standards and safety guidelines, delivering quality customer service to satisfy customers. In close co-operation with customer and other ABB teams, take actions to identify new service business opportunities for ABB.
Your responsibilities
- Performing required testing with presence of customer and approval societies
- Performing maintenance on product or system according to ABB procedure and practice, conducting training as per agreement and giving recommendations
- Contributing to customer satisfaction by planning and executing service work according to customer order and expectation. Clear understanding of sense of urgency and care in the direct area of responsibility
- Performing field service tasks, identifying technical problems and making analysis through remote or on-site activity in service categories and products for which they are certified to perform. Coaching associate technicians and associate engineers
- Preparing material lists needed for service activity and ensuring that all materials, parts and equipment are available and at the appropriate quality for service activities
- Preparing all documents and customer reports to be signed by the customer representative. Utilizing all relevant tools and reporting work done in a timely manner and following up when needed
Your background
- Diploma or B.E in Electrical Engineering
- Minimum 3 to 5 years of relevant experience in commissioning or maintenance
- Knowledge of ABB frequency converters, AC800/AC500 PLC and power systems is an advantage
- Structured and organized, solution oriented, team player and good communication skills
