Server Maintenance Engineer
Harcept provides a wide variety of IT services to small & mid-sized business, although the company itself is a young operation.

Responsibilities
- Responsible for the maintenance, configuration and reliable operation of computer systems.
- Monthly installation of important Windows patches and taking actions to fix related vulnerabilities.
- Quarterly firmware updates related to server hardware.
- Server health checks including (but not limited to) optimum availability of disk free space, performance checks.
- Server OS activation, BPA,backups and their integrity, UPS installation and network power supply, server hardwarewarranties and timely updating of database.
- Work with various hypervisors (Hyper-V and VMware) and manage virtual hardware including (but not limited to) editing virtual disks, troubleshooting VMstate issues, optimize VM's virtual memory space and resumption of I/O processes as per virtual hardware capacity.
- Ensuring that machinery, systems, infrastructure, and equipment run optimally with minimal downtime.
- Establishing different maintenance procedures and protocols and bringing related ideas to the table.
- Forecasting and strategic planning for system overhauls and upgrades, while taking into account long-term maintenance costs.
- Implement knowledge of data backup/recovery and how to troubleshoot backup failures.
- Work with various third-party VPN software to log into internal corporate networks and troubleshoot related issues.
- Ensuring installation of server OS wherever necessary and troubleshoot related issues.
- Ensuring installation and maintenance of third-party software including Anti-virus solutions, patching agents andother necessary services.
- Setting and tracking maintenance KPIs.
- Playing an active role in helping the organization set up and execute preventive maintenance, predictivemaintenance, or any other preferred maintenanceprogram.Responsible for the maintenance, configuration and reliable operation of computer systems.

Qualifications
- Related Microsoft certifications - MCSA, MCITP, MCSE in latest server OS configurations, Azure and core solutions.
- 2+ years of experience in Microsoft Hyper-V, VMware ESXi environment and Linux systems.
- Associate or higher degree in a related field.
- Advanced knowledge of system vulnerabilities and security issues.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Working knowledge of virtualization (Hyper-V and VMWare).
- Excellent knowledge of Windows server operating Systems and its various roles and features.
- Working Knowledge of VMware environment and Linux systems.
- Shouldbe familiar with Office 365, Microsoft Exchange, Active Directory.
- Good Knowledge of cloud solutions like Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Amazon Web Services (AWS) etc.
- Experience with Windows patch management and windows update lifecycle.
- Knowledge of data backup/recovery and how to troubleshoot backup failures.
- Should be familiar with Storage services (NASSAN).
- Networking knowledge including being familiar with the TCP/IP, DHCP, DNS, SNMP, SMTP, FTP, HTTP, HTTPS, ICMP etc.
- Good knowledge of VPN and Firewalls.
- Good awareness of firewall, Antivirus software i.e. Sentinel One, Symantec and others.
- Working knowledge of third-party VPN software services.
- Experience with troubleshooting issues and handling outages with hands-on experience on utilities like iDRAC, iLO etc.
- Knowledge of Power BI.
- Knowledge of scripting.
