We have an exciting role for Technical Support Engineer with Itron, Bangalore for which JD is as follows:

Note:- This role would require the candidate to work in mid/evening shifts, so please apply only if you are comfortable with working in shifts.

Experience :- 5 8 years.

What will your job look like

  • You will provide engineering expertise to troubleshoot, modify and engineer software solutions and configurations to ensure the product/solution performs within optimal design specifications.
  • You will investigate, debug and reproduce issues, provide fixes and workarounds and verify changes to ensure continued operability of the software solution.
  • Flexible to work in shifts based on customer need.

Skills Required

  • Good and intermediate knowledge and hands on skills on LINUX Operating system and application product support.
  • Able to understand architecture of the application and recommend the changes require to optimize the same.
  • Good knowledge on Problem solving and incident management process along with ITIL knowledge.
  • Basic understanding of network monitoring concepts and management tools. Experience of network tools and protocols.
  • Exposure to scripting basics. Experience of scripting (Perl, Bash) and other web application languages (SQ,J2EE Web applications).
  • Able to understand the product feature and J2ee exceptions and able to correlate it.
  • Anyone or more of the following databases Postgresql or RDBMS and basic query writing skills
  • Basic networking concepts and understanding of different OSI layers.
  • Knowledge of various HTTP headers, cookies, web APIs, web servers, SSL, various protocols.
  • Knowledge of troubleshooting tools such as curl, postman, fiddler, chrome debugger etc.
  • Knowledge on cloud concepts, Middle tier like Tomcat / Jboss and understanding the basic configuration.
  • Knowledge on Messaging queue like Active MQ, Rabbit MQ and Kafka is must.
  • Experience on AZURE is desirable.
  • Should have experience in Managing issues and requests logged through Service Now and JIRA
  • Excellent in providing support on Web Applications based on Java/Linux and knowledge on ITIL processes.
  • Experience with any one of the scripting languages (e.g, Shell scripting, python) and programming / debugging skills on Java / J2EE.
  • Able to debug the code and pin point the issue or defect at the LOC level.
  • Deep understanding on JAVA HEAP memory and data flow on application from technical front.
  • Able to analysis and understand HEAP dump, Thread dump , access log and application log and reverse engineer the debug the flow.
  • Good understanding of XML, JSON and RESTful API's.
  • Min of 2+ years of software development experience in .NET with extensive debugging and troubleshooting.
  • Experience with object-oriented and asynchronous programming patterns & understanding of MVC design patterns and frameworks.
  • Demonstrated development or technical application support skill sets with detailed technical experience with industry standard tools and technologies like .Net / SQL / IIS /Message Queues/ Restful services.
