Job Title: Senior Team Lead- Collections

Position Summary:
The Senior Collections Team Lead is responsible for overseeing and managing the daily operations of the collections team. This role requires a strategic leader who can drive collection efforts, enhance team performance, and ensure the efficient recovery of outstanding balances, all while maintaining strong client relationships. The Senior Collections Team Lead will work closely with cross-functional teams to support process improvements and optimize collections workflows.

The Team:
As part of the Collections team, this position is critical in managing cash flow and reducing outstanding receivables. The team is dedicated to ensuring prompt and effective collections, resolving client payment issues, and contributing to the organization's overall financial health.

  • Team Leadership: Manage and mentor a team of collections professionals, providing guidance on day-to-day activities, setting performance goals, and conducting regular evaluations.
  • Collections Strategy: Develop and implement effective collections strategies to meet or exceed collection targets and reduce aging accounts receivable.
  • Client Interaction: Handle escalated collection issues with clients, resolving disputes, and ensuring a positive client experience.
  • Process and Workflow Management: Oversee collections processes and workflows to enhance efficiency ensure timely responses to escalations and prompt resolution of issues.
  • Cross-functional Collaboration: Coordinate closely with teams across Finance, Sales, Customer Service, and Order Management to align collections with broader financial goals.
  • Reporting and Analysis: Utilize reporting tools such as Excel, Tableau, and Power BI to track collection metrics, analyze trends, and prepare reports for management.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement opportunities for process improvements, automation, and system enhancements to streamline collections operations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, or a related field a Master's degree is a plus.
  • Prior experience in collections, with demonstrated experience in a team lead or supervisory role.
  • Proficiency in collections software and reporting tools such as HRC, SAP, Salesforce, Tableau, Power BI, or similar.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience with data-driven decision-making.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven experience in process improvement and team management.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge of credit and collections laws and regulations.
  • Experience with process automation and system enhancement initiatives.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with an ability to work effectively across departments.
