The Level 2 Systems Engineer's role is to ensure the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of the client infrastructure systems that support core IT functions. This is achieved by monitoring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all servers, storage, cloud environments and associated operating systems. You are focused on creating engineering solutions to operations problems, optimizing existing systems and eliminating work through automation. You also ensure that network operations are safe and efficient by monitoring server performance, coordinating planned maintenance, adjusting hardware components and responding to performance or availability issues.

Essential Functions:
Required Education, Experience, and Skills:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field preferred.
Minimum of 8 years support experience in server infrastructure environments.
Maintain proper certification levels to meet departmental needs;
Preferred: Microsoft Windows (MCSA, MCSE)
Valued: CompTIA (Network+, Security+), VMware (VCA, VCP, VCAP)
Other industry certifications a plus
Experience with Azure, Azure AD and common Azure cloud services
Experience with AWS, EC2, S3, Route 53, RDS services
Expertise of Windows Server OS, WSUS, management and administration of server software and components.
Experience implementing and supporting IT Services (Active Directory, Certificate Services, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP, etc.)
Experience using PowerShell to automate task.
Experience with VMWare hypervisors and technologies.
Experience with server hardware and managing physical servers and appliances in a data center environment.
Experience providing process improvement recommendations and documentation.
Demonstrate the ability to prioritize and manage competing demands and tasks, and successfully manage multiple engagements that may require additional resource with attention to detail.
Soft skills required;
