Job Duties And Responsibilities

Provide IT operations support for on-premises network, Windows, Linux, VMware (ESX) Windows Servers and Desktops and associated services. This includes, but is not limited to, implementing Change Requests (CRs), responding to production incidents by joining troubleshooting bridges and taking actions to restore services to normal, routine maintenance (patching, auditing, etc.), and break-fixing, creation and maintenance of necessary documentation.

Skills, Experience And Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in Windows, Macintosh (Mac platform), Linux, and VMware system administration.
  • A bachelor's degree in engineering or equivalent (MSc, MCA).
  • Strong communication skills and ability to explain technical analysis and troubleshooting efforts.
  • Extensive networking knowledge and experience with end-user routers. Monitoring the data center's network equipment and managing network escalations.
  • Good understanding of ILL, MPLS, SDWAN internet connections
  • Strong knowledge of Linux (RHEL, SUSE)
  • Good IT asset management skills required.
  • Good understanding of cloud computing (EC2, EKS, S3).
  • Demonstrated expertise in break fixing, change execution, infrastructure server build, and ITSM best practices.
  • Administer 200+ Windows server systems in both virtual and physical environments. Perform system administration functions for 100+ Physical Windows End-user Systems and 500 + Virtual Machines
  • Good knowledge of backup and restore for Windows/VMware infrastructure.
  • Troubleshoot and fix issues with DISH systems/services (Operating Systems, Active Directory, DHCP, DNS, Group Policy, SCCM, Print, and so on), conduct root cause analysis and provide mitigating measures to avoid repeat occurrences.
  • Review and adhere to system policies, department standards, and system-build documents to ensure consistent support across IT operations teams.
  • Perform system audits to ensure compliance with the documented requirements. Work tickets are assigned promptly, and resolution processes are documented before closure.
  • Monitor and trend system performance and capacity, then escalate issues and remedial strategies to senior staff and/or management.
  • Ability to work well in a geographically distributed team with a wide range of demographics and skill sets.

  • Experience automating system maintenance tasks for consistency and efficiency.
  • Experience supporting hybrid on-perm/cloud Windows/Storage environments
  • Experience with Chef, Beyond Trust, Zabbix, Ivanti, VMware, Configuration Manager, and Intune. Service Now, VMware Workspace One
