The Restaurant Steward is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and dining areas. This role is vital in ensuring that all dishes, utensils, and equipment are clean and ready for use, and that the kitchen operates smoothly and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
Clean and sanitize all kitchen equipment, dishes, utensils, and work areas.
Ensure the proper storage and organization of kitchen supplies and equipment.
Assist with the setup and breakdown of dining areas before and after service.
Dispose of trash and recyclables in accordance with restaurant policies and local regulations.
Support the kitchen team by maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
Assist with basic food preparation tasks as needed.
Monitor inventory levels of cleaning supplies and notify the supervisor of any shortages.
Follow all health and safety regulations, including proper handling and storage of cleaning chemicals.
Perform other duties as assigned by the kitchen supervisor or management team.
