About the role:
The SM is a category manager and is responsible for territory development to establish Wiley's presence in the UPSC segment by selling its UPSC books and other products. This position requires building strong relationships with key decision-makers in coaching institutions, distribution channels, government institutions, and autonomous universities /institutions to promote the books as well as negotiating and closing deals through a consistent follow-up approach.
Reporting to the Head of Distance Learning Enterprise, this position will be based in Noida and will be responsible for achieving the individually assigned targets for the region. The position is responsible for charting a territory-wide plan, TAM, and travel plan, and for lead generation and converting the same into revenue. The SM is also responsible for managing the client accounts end to end, recognizing key client issues, and ensuring the clients needs and sales objectives are consistently met.

Brand Building:
- The position is responsible for charting Wiley's growth story in UPSC. The incumbent, through their communication and presence, is expected to build Wiley's visibility and reputation throughout their territory
Business Growth
- Work diligently and focused to ensure target achievement and a strong renewal lineup along with pipeline for out years.
Business Development
- Identification of Potential Educational Institutions across India for selling the UPSC books
- Identify key decision-makers, stakeholders, and influencers, establish relationships, share proposals, and deliver sales presentations and other required support through consultative sales
Partnership Management
- Establish and manage the client relationship, recognize key client issues, and ensure that client needs and project objectives are consistently met in collaboration with post-sales and product teams, through weekly/monthly follow-up.
- Develop and extend partnerships. Prospect existing clients for new sales and ensure a robust, accurate, and online pipeline of new business.
- Brainstorm with the product and marketing team to maximize client potential and to support and enhance the visibility of Wiley and partner's solutions.
- Create and execute strategies to gain account intelligence and develop business with new and existing clients.
- Share weekly plans of the status of accounts and potential leads, new initiatives, follow-up action plans, and revenue pipeline.
Travel
- In-person presence requires frequent travel to key potential customers for understanding their needs and successful closure of opportunities
What we are looking for:
- Graduate or degree, preferably in Business or Management/ Management from a reputed institution
- Should have 6 to 8 years of experience of sales experience, selling into the UPSC community services, classes, QBs, etc.
- A well-entrenched network in the UPSC community of decision-makers govt institutions, coaching centers, higher education centers, etc.
- Track record of managing the UPSC business with relationships with key account holders.
- Should have handy a list of at least 100 institutions with key decision-maker details.
- Should know at least 20 of these key decision-makers themselves and enjoy a rapport.
- Experience in Ed-tech or Blended learning companies or Technology SaaS companies selling into the universities and UPSC coaching is preferable.
- Basic understanding of digital and how technology is a key enabler for education.
- Candidates located in the South of India will be preferred.
- The position requires at least 40% travel including locally.
