A Day in The Life
As a Senior Controls Software Engineer working at Medtronic, you will be a significant contributor in the development of control algorithms that supports, legacy, current and future generations of robotic surgical instruments. You will create software solutions that run on a sophisticated real-time embedded platform, using embedded sensor and actuator hardware to deliver high-bandwidth, precise and robust instrument response. In addition, this role will involve engagement with the electromechanical design of surgical instruments at all stages with a focus on control software requirements development that is compatible with the test, verification, and validation of a safety-critical system.
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:
Participates, as a member of software project or sub-project team(s), in the verification of software applications for product / test tools
Adheres to defined verification plans and procedures.
Responsible for defining and implementing test strategies of medical devices
Generates high-quality work products.
Participates in review of requirements, development of test case/procedure and execution of test protocol activities and prepare plan documents and test reports
Functions well in a team environment especially in agile environment
Demonstrates good documentation practices.
Must Have: Minimum Requirements
4-12 years of embedded software verification experience for safety critical systems.
Experience in test automation framework (MIL, SIL and HIL)
Experience in setting up the testing environment for embedded systems
Experience in strong Python Programming.
Experience in defining the testing strategies for embedded software
Hands on experience on MATLAB/SIMULINK,
Experience performing risk management analysis of software (e.g., SW FMEA).
Familiarity with real-time operating systems such as QNX/VXWORKS/LINUX.
Experience in tools like JAMA, STASH/BITBUCKET/GIT/JIRA/CONFLUENCE/BAMBOO
Good knowledge on agile principle and good experience in working in agile environment
Nice to Have
Hands on experience on C++
Experience in Medical Domain
