Cerence Inc. is seeking a highly skilled Senior Quality Assurance Engineer to join our dynamic team focused on mobile applications. As a Senior QA Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our mobile applications across various platforms. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including software development, product management, and UX/UI design, to deliver high-quality mobile experiences to our users.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute comprehensive test plans and test cases for mobile applications, covering functional, performance, usability, and regression testing.
- Collaborate with software developers to identify and prioritize test cases based on requirements and user stories.
- Design, implement, and maintain automated test scripts and frameworks for mobile application testing.
- Conduct manual testing as needed to validate the functionality and user experience of mobile applications.
- Perform root cause analysis of defects and work with development teams to ensure timely resolution.
- Continuously monitor and improve the quality assurance process to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Participate in Agile development processes, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and sprint reviews.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior members of the QA team, sharing best practices and industry standards.
- Stay updated on emerging trends and technologies in mobile application testing and quality assurance.
Who you are:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Proven experience (4+ years) in quality assurance for mobile applications, with a focus on iOS and Android platforms.
- Strong understanding of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
- Proficiency in writing clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans and test cases.
- Hands-on experience with automated testing tools and frameworks such as Appium, XCTest, Espresso, or similar.
- Solid programming skills in languages such as Java, Swift, Kotlin, or Python.
- Experience with Agile development methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and tools (JIRA, Confluence).
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Certifications such as ISTQB Certified Tester, Agile Tester, or similar are a plus.
