About the team
Search is a critical user journey on Roku platform. Voice and Text Search is one of the most popular ways for Roku users to discover and watch their favorite content. At the heart of an exceptional search experience lies a deep understanding of queries, content, and user behavior. The search team builds advanced AI/ML techniques to power this understanding and builds a world-class media discovery engine to enhance the user journey on the Roku platform.
About the role
To further the Search team's commitment, we are seeking a talented Senior Machine Learning Infrastructure Engineer to join our Search Organization. In this pivotal role, you will spearhead the development of robust, scalable, and efficient infrastructure essential for model serving, training, feature engineering, and data processing. Your expertise will be crucial in building and maintaining a feature store that stands at the forefront of our ML endeavors. As a Senior Engineer, you will constantly innovate, design, and build systems that help us scale our state-of-the-art AI and ML solutions cost-effectively. We are seeking someone with high technical expertise and a natural flair for problem-solving. Your ability to pay meticulous attention to detail and an unwavering drive for excellence will be key.
What you'll be doing
Make significant contribution to build next generation model inference and feature serving systems for Roku Search.
Opportunities to use cutting edge ML technologies including GPUs and LLMs, distributed training, Quantization, distributed Serving to empower Search ML.
Tons of ambiguous problems and you will be tasked with building 0 to 1 solutions for all of them.
Collaborate with US engineering teams and cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into technical specifications.
Nurture our ML Infra ecosystem to make it withstand scale, developer velocity and future business shifts.
Help in recruiting new engineers. Interview, train, and mentor new team members.
We're excited if you have
5+ years of relevant industry experience in the design of large scale & production ML infra systems or Distributed Systems.
Deep knowledge of building distributed systems or recommendation infrastructure.
Deep knowledge with at least one programming language (Java, C++, Python).
Good understanding of system architecture. Have experience in big data technologies and streaming architecture, data pipelines, etc.
[Preferred] Working experience with Kubernetes and ML offering from AWS and GCP
[Preferred] Experience in complexities of ML model serving (TorchServe, TensorFlow Serving, NVIDIA, Triton inference server, etc.)
[Preferred] Hands-on experience with model / hardware accelerator libraries (Cuda, Quantization).
BS (or higher) degree in Computer Science, or a related field.
