Job Title: Senior Software Engineer
The Team
Morningstar's structured credit research and ratings subsidiary (MCR) is a Nationally Recognized Statistical Ratings Organization (NRSRO) that has earned a reputation for innovation and excellence in the structured finance market. This group aims to increase market transparency and provides the highest quality ratings through securities research, monitoring services, data, and technology solutions.
The Role
The Team Lead will work closely with cross functional teams, QA teams and other development teams to ensure a timely and high-quality delivery. Is accountable for the delivery assigned to team. Will have to coordinate and work with the members in a global team in an Agile way. We are looking for an individual that can apply discipline, create solid software products and be accountable for deliverables.This position isbased in our Mumbai office.
Responsibilities
- Create, develop and maintain the software code base of Credit products working in an agile environment.
- Defect fixing
- Analyses and reviews system requirements. Uses requirement and other design documents to gain overall understanding of the functionality of the new or enhanced application
- Participate actively in the build phases, to aim at producing high quality deliverables
- Provide recommendations on product and development environment improvements
- Architect and develop highly scalable web applications
- Enforce good Agile practices (using JIRA) including test-driven development and continuous integration
- Analyze and remediate production issues and build instrumentation and operational readiness into the systems architecture
- Be passionate about quality, process, programming, and investing in general, seeing opportunities for improvement, seizing them, and then sharing your findings with others.
- Familiarity or desire to become an AWS certified developer/architect
Requirements:
- A minimum of 3 years experience working as a Python software developer with a total experience of 5+ years
- A Minimum 3 years of development experience in Angular or VueJS or node js is required
- A minimum 2 years of experience in cloud is required (Preferred AWS)
- Python based full stack development, using Django/Flask, FAST or other MVC frameworks experience will be a plus
- Prior programming experience with .NET, Web Development will be a big plus
- Understanding of DevOps processes is must to have
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent understanding of Source Control tools preferably Git
- Excellent understanding of Multi-threaded and Asynchronous programming
- A bachelor's degree in computer science or an engineering field; a graduate degree is strongly preferred
