Senior Software Engineer, Front-End Core

Minimum qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.
  
• 5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages, and with data structures/algorithms.
  
• 3 years of experience with front-end frameworks, full-stack development, or API development.
  

Preferred qualifications:

• Experience with project leadership.
• Experience developing and delivering UIs and front-end features.
  
• Experience working across multiple geographic locations.
  
• Experience with Angular and JavaScript.

In this role, you will be responsible for defining a centralized UI for the Information Retrieval (IR) ecosystem and best-practices across all IR UI development.

We are owners and advocates for the underlying design elements, developer platforms, product components, and infrastructure at Google. These are the essential building blocks for excellent, safe, and coherent experiences for our users and drive the pace of innovation for every developer. We look across Google's products to build central solutions, break down technical barriers and strengthen existing systems. As the Core team, we have a mandate and a unique opportunity to impact important technical decisions across the company.

• Work with cross-functional partners to deliver IR's consolidated UI.
• Collaborate with IR teams on individual product UI/interface projects and new features.
• Deliver high-quality UIs adhering to engineering best practices.
• Support best-practices across all IR UI development and consult with other Front-End teams.
• Engage with the Core Data Front-End community including products (e.g., Plex and Data Nexus).
