Senior Software Development Engineer in Test

Job Description

We are looking for a Senior Software Development Engineer in Test to work within an agile team, to develop and execute test scenarios, and deliver Longview's cloud-based software platform. This platform is used by both our Solutions team and directly by customers to implement CPM and Tax business solutions. The successful candidate must have a passion for testing, deeply care about software quality, be committed to continuous improvement, and have excellent communication abilities. A proven results-oriented person with a delivery focus and demonstrated ability to achieve stretch goals in a highly innovative and fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Work within the agile team to plan test cases for User Stories and Features
• Create testing automation scenarios.
• Document and interpret results of automated testing, recording bugs and documenting future remediation work
• Interpret and refine acceptance criteria, ensuring it matches overall project requirements
• Perform manual testing against acceptance criterion throughout the life of software projects
• Coordinate automation activities around regression testing and scheduled testing for clients
• Report and track issues accurately and effectively
• Evaluate mid-project changes for testing impact
• Help us improve our QA processes making them more robust and efficient
• Help triage our testing backlog
• Collaborate well with a remote first team, participating in and contributing in Scrum meetings and work effort estimates

Qualifications

Qualifications

Skills required:

• BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, a related technical discipline, or equivalent
• 5 to 8 years experience of manual testing and/or automation testing
• Passionate about producing high-quality products
• Experience writing comprehensive test plans and test cases and moving them into testing automation tools
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while juggling a variety of projects
• SQL Server experience highly desirable
• Experience on an agile development team in the role of a Quality Engineer performing manual testing and automated testing
• Strong technical writing and verbal communication skills are a must
• Experience with modern application development workflows and version control systems like git
• Selenium
• Java
• Powershell, Linux shell
• Comfortable with both Windows and Linux environments
• Experience with performance test automation and its tools
• Experience in Scrum or other agile development processes

Experience with the following is desirable:

• Azure DevOps
• Jira / X-ray / Confluence
• WinAppDriver
• C#
