Job Description
OPERA 5 - Technical Engineer developing tools for database and application deployment.
As a technical software engineer you will be designing, developing and maintaining software programs to deploy our OPERA 5 application on on-premise and hosted installations.
You provide tools to upgrade hardware and software platforms to the latest supported versions, primarily in the Fusion Middleware Framework (Forms / Reports / Weblogic Server ) and database upgrades and patches.
Document the deployment options and automate with Powershell scripting executed via utilities like Chef Server and RunDeck.

Responsibilities
You will be working closely with the OPERA 5 development team performing these responsibilities:
Patching of the Oracle technology stack (CPU / PSU patches) in our VBE environments.
Maintaining compliance status on dev owned environments.
Patching Automation and Build / Install automation, Procedure, Fixes (launch)
- VBE upgrade
- Prepare VBE servers with upgrade artifacts and perform Test Upgrade in VBE using SOP
- Produce accompanying documentation for AMS and application certification with help of QA members
- Test Rollback process
Maintaining the DR Utility (Disaster Recovery Utility) and maintenance of the OPERA 5 Post Installation Configuration Utility for GBUCS 3.0 (Powershell based)
Prepare environments for Forms 12.2.1.19 upgrades ( in-place and new media )
OPERA 5 Gridlink Data Source Utility for GBUCS 3.0 and OPERA 5 Simplified Installation for GBUCS 3.0 installations
OPERA 5 Install Media bundling
Desired skills and experience with:
- Powershell Scripting and execution via utilities like Chef Server and RunDeck.
- Familiarity with PL/SQL, SQL, WebLogic Console and WebLogic configuration, Configuration of Oracle Forms Applications: formsweb.cfg, default.env files, etc.
