Overview
Skillsoft is seeking a talented Sr Software Developer to join our Software Development Team to develop and extend our reporting solution for the learning management systems.
We are seeking to fill two position and we can locate this talent in our Hyderabad, Telangana office location.
The Principal Software Engineer is capable of working independently as well as in small teams and enjoys working with leading edge technology in a fast-paced work environment.

As a Data Engineer, you will play a crucial role in our organization by leveraging your expertise in data engineering and programming. Your primary responsibility will be to build robust systems that collect, manage, and transform raw data into actionable insights for business analysts and data scientists. Analyse And Organize Raw Data
- Evaluate and process raw data from various sources.
- Construct datasets that are easy to analyze and align with company requirements.
Build Data Systems And Pipelines
- Design and implement data systems that efficiently handle large volumes of information.
- Create pipelines for data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL).
- Develop ETL processes for both batch and real-time data integration jobs.
- Work with databases such as Postgress or equivalent
Evaluate Business Needs And Objectives
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements.
- Align data systems with organizational goals.
Conduct Complex Data Analysis
- Interpret trends, patterns, and anomalies within datasets.
- Prepare reports based on data analysis results.
Prepare Data For Modelling
- Format data for predictive and prescriptive modeling.
- Develop algorithms and prototype.
Enhance Data Quality And Reliability
- Explore ways to improve data quality.
- Identify opportunities for data acquisition.
Collaborate With Cross-Functional Teams
- Work closely with data scientists, architects, and other team members.
- Contribute to multiple projects simultaneously.
Integration with Reporting tools
Quality Assurance And Testing
- Conduct unit testing and system testing to ensure data accuracy and reliability.
- Optimize for performance and efficiency.
Experience
SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:
- A minimum of 5 plus of years in data engineering or a related role.
Technical Expertise
- Strong Experience of ELT (data models, data mining, and segmentation techniques).
- Proficient in developing ETL processes.
- Familiarity with data migration, data integration, and data warehousing
- Proficiency in Postgress database , Apache Kafka , Relation database , AWS, or Azure
- Minimum 2 years of Experience in any ETL tools like Power Bi , Snowflakes, Tableau
- SQL Tuning and performance
Communication Skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Deadline-Oriented:
- Capable of meeting project deadlines even under pressure.
Education and Certifications
- BS in Computer Science, required.
- MS in Computer Science, or equivalent experience , desired
