- Develop, design, and support robust Snowflake data warehouse solutions.
- Translate complex business requirements into scalable technical solutions meeting data warehousing design standards.
- Collaborate with data architects, modelers, and IT team members on project goals.
- Assist in designing and developing data integration strategies and frameworks.
- Perform tuning, optimization, and performance analysis of SQL queries and Snowflake data storage.
- Ensure data security and compliance, and maintain the integrity and reliability of data.
- Provide technical support and mentorship to other development staff.
- Participate in the end-to-end development cycle, from design, implementation, and testing to documentation, delivery, and maintenance.
- Ability to take ownership of a project and see it through to completion
Required Skills & Experience:
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in data warehousing with a focus on the Snowflake cloud data platform.
- Should be able to design, develop, and be responsible for implementation in Snowflake.
- Should be able to load from disparate data sets and translate complex functional and technical requirements into detailed design.
- Strong knowledge and experience with SQL, ETL processes, and data modelling.
- Experience with Snowflake utilities, SnowSQL, SnowPipe, and Big Data model techniques.
- Proven experience in data warehouse design and data mining.
- Experience in data loading tools like DBT or similar.
- Experience with Python/JavaScript or other scripting languages.
- Familiarity with data governance and data quality management concepts.
- Familiarity with BI tools such as Power BI and Tableau.
- Experience in implementing data security measures in Snowflake.
- Experience with other database technologies (MySQL, Oracle, Redshift).
- Should have very good working experience in Snowflake advanced concepts like setting up resource monitors, RBAC controls, virtual warehouse sizing, query performance tuning, Zero copy clone, and time travel, and understanding how to use these features.
- Understanding of agile methodologies and DevOps integration.
- Experience in working with AWS, Azure, and Google cloud services prior experience.
- Experience designing and implementing a fully operational production grade large-scale data solution on Snowflake Data Warehouse.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Skills & Experience:
- Certification in Snowflake.
- Experience with visualization tools like Tableau, Power BI, or Looker.
- Prior experience in a cloud-based environment, particularly AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Familiarity with project management methodologies and tools.
- Proven track record of handling large data sets and relational databases.
- Understanding of data architecture and data pipeline design.
- Previous experience in the (specific industry) would be a plus.
Education:
- Bachelors and Master s degrees in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field. An advanced degree is preferred.
