Job Description

The Senior Sales Development (SSD) Manager is responsible for managing a team of 3 Managers who are each responsible for between 6-9 Sales Development Engineers (SDEs)*. The SSD Manager will report directly to the Global Head of Sales Development.

The role will focus on generating a new pipeline for the Sales team as well as managing inbound activities and marketing campaigns. The SSD Manager will also work directly with Senior Sales and Marketing leadership.

*The role of a Sales Development Rep / Engineer (SDE/SDR) is to follow up on inbound and outbound activities, to schedule business meetings and calls with new and existing accounts and work in collaboration with the mid market and Enterprise sales teams.

The person perfect for this role:

  • Has Regional Leadership Experience: Has been responsible for the management of leaders and of multiple teams within the Asia region.

  • Has experience creating Sales Dev GTM Strategies: Knows how to create and implement strategies to generate leads and drive pipeline growth. This includes defining target markets, messaging, and outreach tactics.

  • Is Analytical and Results Driven: Is skilled at analyzing data and metrics. Able to use data driven insights and decisions to set and communicate clearly define goals for each team (with a focus on driving revenue and marketing response time).

  • Is Skilled at Process Optimization: Understands how to continuously improve and optimize sales development processes, from lead generation to qualification.

Understands Local Market Trends: Stays informed about industry / regional trends and customer needs to adjust strategy when needed and stay competitive.

  • Has Experience Managing a Budget: Experience managing Sales Development budgets specifically relating to tools, training, and personnel.

  • Understands Local Compliance: Understands how to ensure all sales development activities comply with relevant laws and regulations, especially regarding data privacy and telemarketing laws within each country.

  • Works well with Senior Leadership: Knows how to work with Sales and Marketing leaders on campaigns, plays and resources while building a strong and collaborative relationship with regional senior leadership team.

  • Sees Mentoring, Training and Coaching as critical to each team's success: Will guide the SDE management team on improving their coaching and leadership skills.

  • Has a Passion for Technology: Cognex is the world's leading provider of vision systems, manufacturing AI software, sensors, and industrial barcode readers. The SD manager will have a passion for technology within the industry and will assist the team in focusing on upskilling product and industry knowledge.

We are Looking for a driven Team Leader Who:

  • Has a minimum of 5+ years of leadership experience within varying aspects of sales, sales development and/or territory management.

  • Has 3+ years of experience managing a leadership group.

  • A bachelors or masters degree, preferably with a major in marketing, business, or management, is an advantage but not required.

  • Is an effective time manager with the ability to meet deadlines.

  • Demonstrate exceptional passion, emotional intelligence, maturity, and good judgement.
