Plan, Design, Optimize, Control, Manage and improve inbound logistics Network and Operation for Ford IMG plants while ensuring cost, process, and operational efficiencies.
- Good experience (10+ years) in Domestic Inbound Logistics Network planning/ Designing/ Carrier Management / Plant Inbound Operations and freight management.
- Exposure to Transportation Management Digital Tools and Techniques.
- Possess Good business acumen in Logistics, Network Design, TMS, Optimization, Dock schedule
- Hands on experience in digital tools / platforms (like TMS, LMS, Optimizer, Route Planner, ERP)
- Understanding of Logistics Network Design Process (Shipments, Rates, Packaging / Master Data)
- Ability to analyze opportunities in logistics network with respect to cost, cube, mode, frequency, transit time, inventory, multi model, fleet customization etc.
- Good Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills to arrest day to day operational issues and concerns.
- Design, Re-design and optimize Local Inbound Logistics Network to reduce freight cost.
- Drive Design for Logistics to achieve best in class Cube Utilization and CLU.
- Drive network implementation and alignment with Plant, Supplier & Carrier.
- Ensure Optimum Dock Balancing, Utilization and Uniform Traffic Flow at plant.
- Manage CMMS (HMRS, SF, TT, Truck Pull ahead) and TMS (Supplier, Tariff, Shipment) data.
- Support & ensure to overcome Plant operational constraints to meet production / network plan.
- Generate out of the box ideas with Blue Sky Mind Set. Drive TVM culture & Freight efficiencies.
- To be self-driven and adopt Lean approach using Data Analytics and Operational know-how. Constantly Challenge the status-Quo and to achieve the best Optimal Routing.
- Coach & groom the logistics team members on Insourcing Tool, Inbound Operation & strategy.
- Ensure Continuous improvement in Dock TAT, Suppliers Window time and TAT.
- Drive Improvement in Key KPI - Carrier digital Data Compliance (API), On Tim Pick Up, On time Delivery, Transit Time, Dock Schedule Adherence, Cost / Cube / Load Performance
- Should collaborate with other countries and regions, flexible working hours / time zones.
- Benchmark best in class Inventory / Logistics processes / costing methods/multi model options.
- Support and drive contract renewal discussions and negotiations along with CFT
- Ensure Carrier Fleet, Depot, Hub, Manpower & TMS Integration Readiness for New Launches
- Effective Carrier Management - Load Planning, Training, KPI, Reports, Freight Payment etc.
