Key Responsibilities: Develop and implement project-specific QA plans, procedures, and protocols.- Monitor and audit the quality management system (QMS) to ensure compliance with project specifications and relevant industry standards (e.g., ISO, ASME, ASTM).
Conduct regular site inspections and audits to verify that construction activities are carried out according to design drawings, specifications, and quality requirements.
- Collaborate with design, engineering, and construction teams to ensure that materials and methods meet required quality standards.
Manage the calibration of testing and inspection tools and equipment.Quality Control (QC):
Establish and oversee the implementation of testing and inspection programs to ensure materials and workmanship meet quality standards.
- Supervise QC staff and inspectors, ensuring they perform tasks effectively and report findings accurately.
Review and approve supplier and subcontractor quality plans, materials submittals, and test results.- Identify, document, and resolve non-conformances in construction activities, recommending corrective actions and preventive measures.
Coordinate with third-party testing laboratories to validate materials testing and quality control measures.
- Documentation & Reporting:
Maintain detailed and organized records of quality inspections, testing, and audits.- Prepare quality reports, progress reports, and inspection reports for senior management, clients, and regulatory agencies.
Ensure that project documentation is up-to-date and accessible for internal and external audits.
- Lead investigations into any quality issues, prepare reports on findings, and implement corrective actions.
Compliance & Safety:
- Ensure that all quality control and assurance activities comply with relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.
Participate in safety inspections and contribute to safety improvement plans where necessary.
- Keep up-to-date with changes in regulations and standards relevant to construction quality.
Team Leadership & Training:
- Lead and mentor junior QA/QC engineers and inspectors.
Conduct training sessions and workshops to raise awareness of quality standards among construction and site teams.
- Collaborate with project managers, construction managers, and other stakeholders to promote a culture of continuous quality improvement.
Client Interaction:
- Liaise with clients to understand quality expectations and resolve any quality-related issues or concerns.
Participate in project meetings to discuss quality control issues, progress, and improvements.
- Ensure that client feedback is incorporated into the project's QA/QC processes.
- Qualifications and Skills:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in quality assurance and quality control in the construction industry, with at least 3 years in a senior role.
Strong knowledge of construction processes, materials, codes, and standards.- Experience with quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001).
Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
Proficient in QA/QC tools, techniques, and software (e.g., AutoCAD, MS Office, Primavera, etc.).- Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
Certification such as CQE (Certified Quality Engineer) or other relevant credentials is an asset.
