What you will work on

As a Senior QA Automation Engineer at Camascope you will be an integral part of the team that works to develop, enhance and expand out QA test coverage at scale across our core products. In the role of a core contributor you will collaborate with the cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality QA Automation approaches and tooling as we continue to improve and add features to our successful care and medication products. You will work closely with our technical and product learnership to help inform our product, delivery and technology approaches, and will work closely with the product engineering team to help implement, enhance and evolve the features of our software. Plus, you will be responsible for helping to mentor and provide guidelines to future engineers joining the team.

We are seeking people who are excellent communicators, proactive collaborators and able to break down complex requirements to go on to design and develop sensible, modern and scalable software solutions. We are looking for experienced and adaptable QA Automation Engineers who can begin with a lean approach to solving problems in code and iterate it to full featured, well architected solutions, that can continue to perform well and be evolved as the products mature and new needs are identified; whilst also setting the standard of how we work and growing the capability of other team members.

Responsibilities:

  • Initially take ownership of our QA Automation approach, collaborating with the software engineering teams, but also looking to help define the longer-term strategy and grow this capability in the coming year.
  • Putting in place and maintaining best practice QA Automation tooling and practices.
  • Design, engineer and deliver new QA Automation functionality and features, or enhancement to existing features, using appropriate technologies and techniques.
  • Keep our customers and care home patients at the heart of everything we build.
  • A strong focus on continuous delivery including ensuring testing and security measures are embedded into CI/CD pipelines, enabling the development of secure, scalable, high-quality software through the adoption of DevSecOps practices and tools.
  • Invest in continuously improving our application stack by identifying blockers, impediments, deficiencies and waste, and work to actively resolve them.
  • Make significant contributions to technical decisions and the technology roadmap.
  • Have both a learning and teaching mindset, and actively mentor others in the team.
  • Be accountable for the full software development lifecycle from initial code to production, including testing, deployment and monitoring.
  • Troubleshoot and debug complex issues, identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.
  • Work in an agile team-oriented environment, collaborating with other Engineers, Designers and Product Managers to achieve product outcomes.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's/master's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or similar.
  • 5 +years of industry experience as a Senior QA Automation Engineer, with a strong portfolio of QA Automation work.
  • Experience developing test automation frameworks for mobile and web apps using opensource tools Playwright, Appium or similar.
  • Strong experience with Python.
  • Strong experience with cloud-based QA and DevOps practices, including continuous integration and deployment, specifically with experience of implementing QA Automation in Azure DevOps in production environments.
  • Demonstrable understanding of industry best practices for QA Automation.
  • Good understanding of C#, .Net, React web and native app development frameworks, libraries, and tools and ecosystems.
  • Ability to identify optimisations for application performance, memory usage, and overall efficiency.
  • Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills with a fix forward and learn mindset.
  • Should be Capable and comfortable working with Agile/Scrum methodologies.

Bonus points for:

  • Previous experience in early-stage startups or scale-ups.
  • Have worked previously in Health Care or Pharmacy tech.
  • Experience with Azure, C#.Net 8, React 18 and Flutter 3
