WWF-India, one of the country's largest conservation organizations, invites applications from enthusiastic candidates with experience in implementing community/social development projects infield locations. The recruit will be responsible for implementing and monitoring of project(s) in WWF India's Western Arunachal Landscape (WAL) and will closely work with local communities on issues related to
- Promotion of agroecological & sustainable agriculture practices.
- Conduct training and demonstration plots with local farmers on agroecological practices.
- Liaison with technical institutions, universities and line departments to support local farmers.
- Field data collection, collation and report writing.
- Monitoring and evaluation based on the project demands.

Job Profile:
Programme Implementation - Awareness Campaigns : Organize workshops, and community meetings to educate farmers about the benefits of agroecology, such as soil health improvement, biodiversity conservation, and resilience to climate change.
- Resource Distribution : Provide farmers with access to organic seeds, natural fertilisers, and pest control methods that align with agroecological principles.
- Training Programs : Organize regular training sessions covering topics such as organic farming, crop rotation, integrated pest management, and water conservation techniques.
- Demonstration Plots : Establish demonstration plots where farmers can observe and participate in agroecological practices in action. These plots serve as practical learning sites where farmers can see the benefits of techniques like companion planting, soil mulching, and composting.
- Farmer Field Schools : Create Farmer Field Schools (FFS) where groups of farmers can regularly meet, share knowledge, and learn from each other's experiences under the guidance of agroecology experts.
Networking & Advocacy:
- Partnership Development : Collaborate with universities, technical institutions i.e., KVK to bring the latest research and technological advancements to local farming communities.
- Resource Mobilization : Work with government line departments to secure funding, tools, and inputs that can support the implementation of agroecological practices. Advocate for policies and programs that benefit sustainable agriculture.
- Internal and external communication: Facilitating information flow from partners/ landscape about conservation and livelihood issues to Landscape team and the team at secretariat (New Delhi).
Reporting:
- Data Collection : Regularly collect data on various parameters such as crop yields, soil health, biodiversity, water usage, and farmer adoption rates. Use surveys, interviews, and direct observations as primary data collection methods.
- Report Writing : Prepare detailed reports that summarise the findings, highlight successes and challenges, and provide recommendations. These reports can be used for internal monitoring, stakeholder communication, and publication in scientific journals or presentations.
- Development of M&E Framework : Establish a monitoring and evaluation (M&E) framework with clear indicators, baselines, targets, and timelines that align with the project's objectives.
- Feedback Mechanisms : Implement systems for continuous feedback from farmers, stakeholders, and project staff to identify areas for improvement and to make timely adjustments.
Requirements
Desired Qualifications and Experience:
- Masters Degree preferably in Agriculture, Sustainable Agriculture Practices, Agribusiness Management, Agro-forestry, Development Sector or a related field.
- The candidate should have at least five years of working experience in the development sector, preferably with experiences in implementation of sustainable agriculture & agroecological projects with conservation outcomes and livelihoods augmentation.
- Preferred oral languages are Hindi/ English with good writing communication skill in English.
