Our Position

AstraZeneca is building an internal consulting capability within our Global Business Services (GBS) group, focused on delivering high-quality project management across our enterprise.
Our vision is to create a global project services team that delivers business outcomes by meeting the internal demand for strong project management skills. You will work closely with our businesses as a project expert and trusted advisor, setting high standards, collaborating, and supporting our business partners.
Within the GBS Project Services team, you will define and deliver service quality while acting as a project thought leader, responding to business needs for project support. With a strong understanding of change management and excellent communication skills, you will effectively engage with stakeholders to achieve business outcomes.

Typical Accountabilities
- Project Management: Manage functional projects of medium complexity and risk with a supportive partner organization.
- Project Governance: Define, implement, and drive project governance across a mature partner landscape.
- Customer Engagement: Deliver excellent customer service, effective communication, professionalism, and a commitment to exceeding expectations.
- Problem Solving: Apply effective problem-solving techniques, simplifying complex information to create actionable insights.
- External Insight: Participate in communities of practice with Project Directors and Managers in the wider team.
Essential Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree
- Proven track record of 5+ years managing medium complexity projects in a global organization as a Project Manager, with a total of 10+ years of experience.
- Significant experience and skill in presenting to senior management through written and verbal channels.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills with experience in collaborating and sharing knowledge between teams.
- Experience in evaluating risks, considering alternatives, and encouraging input from others to make effective decisions and plan mitigation tactics.
- Comfortable and skilled in operating within a complex, matrixed organization across diverse, global teams.
- Excellent business engagement and acumen with sensitivity to internal and external political/economic environments.

- Management Consulting experience
- Experience in the pharmaceutical industry or equivalent global, complex organizations; familiarity with working within a quality and compliance environment and applying relevant policies, procedures, and guidelines.
