About the Role:
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in the design and execution of process engineering for Greenfield and Brownfield projects within the refinery and petrochemical sectors. The candidate should be proficient in working on ISBL (Inside Battery Limits) and OSBL (Outside Battery Limits) projects and possess a strong understanding of various process deliverables and interdisciplinary interfaces.
Key Responsibilities:
- Process Design and Development:
- Develop Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) from scratch.
- Design process flow diagrams (PFDs) and process control philosophies.
- Perform steady-state simulations and modular skid designs.
- System and Package Expertise:
- Design and execute systems such as flare recovery, C3 refrigeration skids, C3 recovery membrane packages, PSA package units, GC analyzers, compressor packages, dryer packages, and separation columns.
- Project Phases:
- Participate in Basic, Pre-FEED (Front-End Engineering Design), FEED, and Detail Engineering projects.
- Ensure seamless transition and continuity through all project phases.
- Coordination and Communication:
- Interface and coordinate with vendors and licensors to ensure project alignment and timely delivery.
- Generate and resolve technical queries promptly to avoid project delays.
- Maintain clear and concise communication with interdisciplinary teams (e.g., mechanical, electrical, instrumentation).
- Optimization and Execution:
- Optimize man-hours estimation and manage project execution efficiently.
- Lead process proposals and presentations for stakeholders and clients.
- Software Proficiency:
- Utilize process engineering software tools such as AspenPlus, Hysys, PROII, FlareNet, KORF, AFT, and HTRI effectively.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
- Educational Background:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Chemical Engineering or a related field.
- Professional Experience:
- Minimum of 8-15 years of experience in process engineering within the refinery and petrochemical sectors.
- Proven track record of working on Greenfield and Brownfield projects, particularly ISBL and OSBL.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in developing P&IDs, PFDs, and process control philosophies.
- Experience with steady-state simulation, modular skid design, and package systems.
- Strong knowledge of process engineering software tools: AspenPlus, Hysys, PROII, FlareNet, KORF, AFT, and HTRI.
- Execution and Coordination:
- Sound execution knowledge of various process deliverables and interdisciplinary interfaces.
- Experience in vendor and licensor coordination.
- Ability to generate and resolve technical queries quickly.
- Expertise in man-hours estimation and optimization.
- Soft Skills:
- Excellent communication and coordination skills.
- Strong presentation skills for scope briefing and stakeholder engagement.
