Job Description

Job Title: Senior Power BI Developer (Insurance Domain)

Location: Hi-tech City, Hyderabad, Telangana, India

Job Type: Full-Time

Timings: US EST

Summary:

We are seeking an Elite Power BI Developer with a strong background in the insurance industry. The ideal candidate should be professional, highly motivated, self-disciplined, and willing to follow directions from the USA team, leveraging their expertise in data visualization, reporting, and analytics to drive insights and decision-making within the insurance domain. The role requires proficiency in Power BI, SQL, and a deep understanding of insurance processes, products, and data.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Develop and Maintain Power BI Dashboards:

o Design, build, and deploy advanced Power BI reports and dashboards that support various business needs within the insurance domain, such as underwriting, claims, and policy management.

o Create interactive and user-friendly visualizations that enable users to explore and understand data trends.

2. Data Integration and Transformation:

o Collaborate with data engineers to source and integrate data from multiple sources, ensuring data accuracy and completeness.

o Perform ETL / ELT processes to prepare data for reporting.

3. Data Analysis:

o DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) formulas for efficient data analysis in Power BI.

o Perform in-depth analysis on insurance data to identify trends, patterns, and insights that inform business strategy.

4. Collaboration with Stakeholders:

o Work closely with insurance professionals, including actuaries, claims analysts, and underwriters, to gather requirements and understand reporting needs.

o Present insights and actionable recommendations to business leaders to support decision-making.

5. Insurance-Specific Reporting:

o Create custom reports to meet insurance-specific needs, such as claims ratios, loss forecasting, premium analyses, and policyholder demographics.

o Ensure compliance with insurance regulations and reporting standards.

Qualifications:

Experience:

o Minimum of 5 years of experience with Power BI, 10 years of experience with BI tools.

o Huge Plus To have a proven experience in the insurance industry with a solid understanding of insurance terminology, workflows, and data.

Technical Skills:

o Proficiency in Power BI, including Power Query, DAX.

o Strong SQL skills for querying and extracting data from various databases.

o Experience with ETL processes and data warehousing.

Insurance Knowledge:

o Familiarity with key insurance metrics, reporting needs, and regulatory requirements.

o Understanding of insurance processes such as policy administration, claims management, underwriting, and risk assessment.

Other Skills:

o Excellent problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail.

o Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud).

Insurance-specific certifications (e.g., CPCU, ARM).
