Job Descriptions :
- Installation and Configuration: Installing and configuring Oracle database software on servers, ensuring proper setup and configuration according to organizational requirements and best practices.
- Database Design and Schema Management: Collaborating with developers and data architects to design and implement database schemas, ensuring efficient data organization and integrity.
- Backup and Recovery: Implementing backup and recovery strategies to safeguard data against loss or corruption, performing regular backups, and testing recovery procedures to ensure data availability and business continuity.
- Performance Tuning: Monitoring database performance, identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks, optimizing SQL queries, and fine-tuning database parameters to improve overall system efficiency and responsiveness.
- Security Management: Implementing and maintaining database security measures, including user authentication, access controls, data encryption, and auditing to protect sensitive information and comply with regulatory requirements.
- Patch Management and Upgrades: Applying patches, updates, and version upgrades to Oracle database software to address security vulnerabilities, bugs, and feature enhancements, while minimizing downtime and ensuring system stability.
- Capacity Planning: Estimating future resource requirements based on current usage trends and business needs, planning for scalability, and provisioning additional hardware or resources as necessary to accommodate growth.
- Monitoring and Alerting: Setting up monitoring tools and alerts to proactively monitor database health, performance metrics, and system availability, and responding promptly to any issues or anomalies.
- Disaster Recovery Planning: Developing and maintaining disaster recovery plans and procedures to minimize data loss and downtime in the event of system failures, natural disasters, or other catastrophic events.
- Documentation and Training: Documenting database configurations, procedures, and best practices, and providing training and support to other team members, developers, and end-users on database-related topics.
- Troubleshooting and Support: Investigating and resolving database-related issues, troubleshooting errors, and providing technical support to resolve user queries and incidents in a timely manner.
