Position Summary

The Senior Network Engineer (Routing & Switching and SD-WAN) is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining network infrastructure to ensure high performance, scalability, and security. This role involves working with complex networking technologies, including routing and switching (R&S), Software-Defined Wide Area Network (SD-WAN), firewalls, VPNs, and other network services. The engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize the network environment, troubleshoot issues, and support ongoing improvements.

Key Responsibilities

1] Network Design & Implementation

• Design and implement network solutions to support business requirements, focusing on R&S and SD-WAN.
• Develop network architecture and detailed network designs, ensuring scalability, security, and performance.
• Integrate SD-WAN solutions into existing network environments and migrate traditional WAN to SD-WAN.

2] Network Management and optimization

• Monitor network performance and optimize configurations to improve network efficiency and reduce latency.
• Ensure the availability, reliability, and performance of network services.
• Maintain and manage hardware, including routers, switches, firewalls, and other network devices.

3] Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution.

• Diagnose and resolve complex network issues, including connectivity problems, hardware failures, and configuration errors.
• Perform root cause analysis for major incidents and implement corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
• Provide Level 3 support for escalated network issues

4] Security and Compliance

• Implement security best practices and protocols, including firewalls, VPNs, access controls, and intrusion prevention systems.
• Ensure network compliance with relevant industry standards and internal policies.
• Collaborate with security teams to identify vulnerabilities and enhance network protection.

Required Skills & Qualification

1. 10+ years of experience in network engineering with a focus on R&S and SD-WAN technologies.
2. In-depth knowledge of networking protocols, including OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, MPLS, and QoS.
3. Expertise with SD-WAN solutions such as Cisco Viptela, VMware VeloCloud, or similar.
4. Strong experience with firewalls, VPNs, and security protocols.
5. Hands-on experience with network monitoring and management tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Wireshark).
6. Cisco certifications (CCIE) Preferred.
7. Excellent problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot complex network issues.
8. Strong communication skills, with the ability to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
