We're in search of a seasoned and enthusiastic Senior MySQL Database Administrator to join our expanding team in Mumbai! As a pivotal member of our IT department, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the performance, security, and availability of our critical MySQL databases.
This position offers a hybrid work model with 2-3 days in-office and the remainder from home.
What We're Looking For
- Minimum 6+ years in Senior MySQL DBA or similar role.
- Proficient in designing, implementing, and managing complex MySQL databases.
- Deep understanding of MySQL query optimization and performance tuning.
- Familiarity with database security practices and access control.
- Experience with database automation scripting (Python, shell).
- Skilled in disaster recovery planning for MySQL.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and within a team.
- Passion for continuous learning and advancement in MySQL technology.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and manage intricate MySQL database structures.
- Configure MySQL instances in clustered and non-clustered environments.
- Optimize database performance via query tuning, indexing, and resource management.
- Establish and maintain a robust disaster recovery plan for MySQL databases.
- Conduct regular backups and recoveries to ensure data integrity and minimize downtime.
- Automate routine tasks using Python or shell scripting.
- Monitor database health and performance using industry-standard tools.
- Enforce strict security protocols to prevent unauthorized access and breaches.
- Stay updated on MySQL trends and technologies.
- Document database design, configuration, and procedures.
