Job Role: This senior role is an integral part of our busy team of experienced market researchers and data analysts and more senior professionals within the marketing/market research field and consultants in higher education. The role requires strong experience of market research techniques and the ability to handle all stages of the project life cycle, from proposal to presentation. You will be expected to attend client meetings and represent the company in public (e.g. within conferences and client presentations) and you will be given support but freedom to develop the primary research business stream to meet clients needs with innovative and profitable research proposals.
Key Responsibilities
Leading and project managing primary research commissions
Planning and executing sales/business development activity to achieve targets
Responding to enquiries and requests for proposals
Designing research products that can be marketed to target clients
Building relationships with new and existing client base (clients mainly UK based universities) to encourage repeat purchase
Coaching and developing junior staff to acquire/improve their primary skills
Mentoring other team members
Contributing to the management of company-wide initiatives; member of the senior research team and participate in company training days, CSR days and awaydays
Contributing to thought leadership, speaking at conferences and seminars, writing web/blog content about relevant insight issues
Managing the university market insight awards (launched in 2017)
Managing freelance researchers as required Person Specification Essential
Min 5 years professional market research experience including project management, research design, execution and reporting. For Senior Market Research Manager position, minimum of 10 years professional market research experience.
Strong technical research skills qualitative or quantitative (a mix is preferred)
Positive commercial attitude
Experienced presenter, able to create winning proposals, a good networker and written/verbal communicator
Able to coach, mentor and manage junior staff
High quality standards in both setting research methods and delivering research results whether written reports or presentations
Degree/postgraduate qualified
Full clean driving license Desirable
Experience or knowledge of the higher education market (beyond as a student)
MRS qualification
Research experience in at least one of: NPD, brand, pricing, conjoint analysis, international markets or UX Lifelong learning mindset
