Role Overview:
Exciting opportunity for initiative-taking individual to assume the Workday and Payroll Reporting Senior Manager role within the HR organization. The organization offers the opportunity for a motivated individual to be part of a best-in-class HR Operations and Technology organization and develop global processes to sustain flexibility as the business needs change. The HR and Payroll Reporting Senior Manager will be responsible for participating in defining the Payroll and Workday reporting strategy and roadmap, as well as ensuring that reports meet customer requirements and specifications while following best practices and industry standards. You will partner with Payroll, HR Technology, COEs, HRBPs, HR Operations and other key stakeholders to identify resource requirements, meet training needs, define project deliverables, and execute reports as needed. You will ensure effective communications and relationships between your team, customers, and other involved parties are always maintained. Job responsibilities subject to change based upon alignment of processes within the organization.
This position will require the ability to work U.S. based hours.
Essential Responsibilities
The Workday and Payroll Reporting Senior Manager will be responsible to design, develop, analyze, and present information on a scheduled and ad hoc basis for global Payroll and HR operations, collaborating with internal stakeholders and external vendors in functional and technical development effort driven by business requirements to meet regional and international reporting and processing demands.
Provide expertise to identify and translate system requirements into software design documentation
Design and develop prototype solutions to meet business needs leveraging existing toolset and latest technological solutions where applicable (e.g., cloud, web, mobile)
Interact and coordinate with key vendors and business partners to optimize best-in-class tools and systems and effectively manage the holistic reporting portfolio
Engage with ADP Enterprise Version 5/6, ADP GlobalView, ADP Celergo, Workday, ADP Insights Dashboard data structures to support consolidated global payroll reporting
Intake requests for data, analysis or reports, gate keep and manage expectations among ad hoc and standard work
Data collection and consolidation, analytics and reporting before delivery to recipients to ensure consistency
Development of HR and Payroll reports and metrics for optimal presentation to global executives
Drive, adopt and enforce best practices in templates and tools
Ensure key trends, issues, watch items are brought forward from analysis into Management Summaries clearly and accurately
Adhere to global data privacy laws
Support intelligent automation initiatives
Drive to digitize and automate the reporting processes to support and enable self-service
Build and maintain effective relationships with project sponsors and key stakeholders to ensure reporting requirements are clearly understood and output is aligned with business expectations
Conduct working sessions with key stakeholders to gather, understand, and analyze business requirements to ensure they are translated into functional specifications
Support development of business cases, project scoping, project alignment, and process documentation to ensure clarity and accountability of deliverables
Work closely with Colleague Services, HR Technology, regional and functional teams, and end-users to ensure successful design and testing of reports and dashboards according to the desired requirements and specifications
Design structured multi-source data solutions to deliver reports and/or dashboards that make data actionable for customers and other key stakeholders
Prepare periodic communications to stakeholders, work documents, and project plans using agreed upon project management tools
Identify and implement corrective actions quickly and independently in order to accomplish project objectives
Manage and advise on documentation of lessons learned, and feedback loops to ensure continuous improvement and deployment of best practices
Actively support the proper use, access, storage, and transmission of sensitive employee data and actively participate in system and data quality compliance
Maintain discretion and confidentiality in all areas pertaining to data and proprietary information
Use an open and collaborative approach to collaborating with strategic partners both within HR and across the business
Supervise, mentor, and guide other offshore reporting team members
Minimum Experience/Skills
Bachelor's degree required
12+ years of experience developing Workday and Payroll reporting functions for a large global organization
Experience as a Team lead / Supervisor / Manager
Experience building and testing ADP SQL and Workday reports and dashboards
Knowledge of ADP Enterprise Version 5/6, ADP GlobalView, ADP Celergo, ADP Insights Dashboard data structures to support consolidated global payroll reporting
Familiarity with Workday HCM Core, Recruiting, Compensation, Talent & Performance Management, Learning, and Extend functionality
Completion of Workday Report Writing, Calculated Fields, and Advanced Reporting training courses with an in-depth understanding of Workday security
Strong knowledge of full Workday reporting tool stack, including advanced reports, dashboards, scorecards and Business Intelligence and Reporting Tools (BIRT)
Preferred Experience/Skills
Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification a plus
Workday Reporting Pro Certification a plus
High comfort level working in a fast-paced, global, collaborative, results-oriented culture
Ability to manage multiple sub project teams, tasks concurrently and meet deadlines, despite conflicting demands
Strong interpersonal, stakeholder management, and relationship building skills; ability to establish credibility/rapport with stakeholders globally and in a virtual environment
Must be a motivated, self-starter who is able to work independently in a high volume fast paced environment with limited supervision and direction
Advanced analytical skills and demonstrated effective techniques for data migration and formation
Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate with all levels of global leadership
Demonstrated capability to work across functions/organizations
Strong organization skills with high attention to detail
Experience working with outsourced external payroll providers and vendor management is a plus
Process and automation improvement methodologies a plus
