Job Description:
Senior Global Category Manager for Technology Procurement, End User Service & other related tech sub-categories, is accountable for end-to-end sourcing and contract management across the assigned category(ies). This will include the implementation of category strategies; contracting for master/service/product agreements within the categories; management of supplier relationships that fall outside of the enterprise SRM structure for these categories; and for ensuring the suppliers to deliver GSK's performance / quality / financial requirements.
Strategy Development
Procurement category strategy leadership for End User Services - leading the development, management, and implementation of comprehensive category strategies on a global scale that deliver the business requirements across assurance of supply, quality, service, cost and innovation.
Strategy Implementation
Negotiates contracts with suppliers that secure favourable terms for procurement contracts in line with the agreed business requirements.
Contract planning, negotiation, execution, interpretation and maintenance; manages / monitors ongoing negotiations with 3rd parties.
Lead and implement key projects to support savings delivery or risk mitigation.
Business partnering & stakeholder management in GSK
Global leadership and global influence including business partnering of senior stakeholders. This includes leading stakeholder alignment and planned delivery (Commercial leadership and Finance across the business)
Build strategic relationships with GSK stakeholders, to understand business requirements, identify opportunities to create value and to position Procurement's value proposition. Align sourcing strategies accordingly.
Working across multiple countries requiring high cultural awareness
External supplier relationships
Manage the suppliers for the categories within scope through a robust performance management process. Ensure supplier performance is understood and measured. Also includes leading SRM for key strategic vendors.
Requires significant external supplier knowledge and their product offerings and capabilities in Tech categories.
Business Strategy
Champions the sourcing & procurement process, policies, documentation, and tools across functions in compliance with all risk, regulatory, and compliance requirements
Qualification & Requirement
Total experience required- 8 to 13 Years
Education Criteria- Any regular Graduation and above
A minimum of 10 years of Tech Procurement experience in large organization(s) in a global sourcing environment. Any experience with sourcing of End User hardware, software, applications and associated services is a strong plus.
This is a complex sourcing and category management role. The role holder will be required to operate independently, influencing senior management and effectively leading and developing project teams.
Strong techno-commercial skills in Tech sourcing particularly with respect to developing & implementing strategies, stakeholder management and supplier relationship management.
Demonstrated experience in influencing strategy and managing across multiple global countries/markets.
Leadership and excellent communication skills.
Executive presence and experience of working with top leaders and leadership level presentation skills.
Good understanding of Procurement tools / skillset such as RFx, sourcing, quotation analysis, contract negotiation, supplier review, supplier development and others.
Good ability to motivate and inspire colleagues, and work in partnership with others to drive, implement and support change.
Good ability to manage sensitive partnerships, strong influencing and stakeholder partnering skills coupled with excellent negotiation and communication skills.
Good knowledge of finance (cost benchmark & financial audit with key suppliers) and legal matters (contracting).
Demonstrated experience in managing global projects.
Contracting experience required including a thorough understanding of contracting fundamentals and experience with contract planning, negotiation, execution, interpretation, and maintenance. Experience in negotiating IT specific contracts will be a plus
