Responsible for assisting and/or performing assessment of risks and internal controls over financial reporting in support of the IFC Compliance Program. Other responsibilities include assisting with executing Internal Audit procedures designed to support the business. This position interacts with the other Internal Audit staff, internal and external auditors, as well as process owners and executives throughout the company. We are seeking a motivated, experienced auditor with a track record of success understanding risks, controls, and the governance process and who is adept at designing audit objectives based on risks.
Serve as an internal controls specialist for assigned ICFR business processes / areas. This includes, but is not limited to, risk identification and risk rationalization, process flow and narrative development and maintenance, internal controls integration, advising on the design and implementation of controls, mitigation of risk, remediation of control deficiencies or design gaps and assisting management in analysing reported changes to assigned processes.
Ability to work independently with ICFR Process Owners, Control Coordinators and Accounting Representatives to prioritize critical business areas for conducting management s assessment
Work with the external auditors to facilitate management s assessment in accordance with the IFC requirements.
Participate in the development of control evidence expectations, detailed ICFR testing plans and reviewing test guidance/scripts for completeness, accuracy and readability.
Conduct testing of internal controls over financial reporting for operating effectiveness, prepare gap list and assist management with the remediation of the control gaps.
Assist in carrying out various routine duties, such as monitoring the IFC certification process, review control assessment work papers, independently interpret implications of management s self-reported observations of ICFR controls and Internal Audit s reported observations.
Other IFC assessment related support and assessment status reporting responsibilities
Ensure implementation of Enterprise Risk Management in the business and regular follow up and testing of on key mitigating plans
Manage the overall execution and completion of assigned audit projects on a timely basis.
Manage the audit focus onto key risks and ensure efficient effective delivery with the highest quality, in compliance with professional standards and audit policies.
Ensure audits are completed timely and within budget.
Review, evaluate and follow-up on the corrective action plan taken by management in response to issues raised in audit reports.
Stay up-to-date with evolving regulatory changes and market events affecting the business. Other duties as assigned.
Bachelor s degree in Accounting or related field from an accredited college/university
CA, CPA, CFE, CISA, CIA or working towards a relevant certification is a plus
7 years of relevant experience in internal audit and internal controls
Ability to work directly with Process owners and control operators at all levels
Ability to comprehend, interpret, communicate and assist management in meeting regulatory requirements of IFC and standards set by ICAI and adopted by the SEBI
Willingness to work outside normal business hours as necessary, especially during critical issue resolution and to achieve project milestones
Willingness to travel
Minimum of five years of public accounting experience is a plus
