This role We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Legal and Compliance Officer with 7-8 years of Post-Qualification Experience (PQE) to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in handling legal disputes and a deep understanding of compliance regulations. Additionally, the candidate should possess the skills to manage third-party compliance tools effectively.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Dispute Resolution: Lead and manage the company's dispute resolution process. This includes overseeing litigation, arbitration, and alternative dispute resolution methods, reply, and preparing responses to legal notices. Develop strategies to minimize legal risks and resolve disputes efficiently.
- Compliance Expertise: Stay up to date with the latest legal and regulatory developments relevant to the company's industry. Provide guidance on compliance matters, ensuring the company's adherence to all applicable laws and regulations.
- Risk Assessment: Conduct risk assessments to identify potential legal and compliance issues. Develop and implement strategies to mitigate these risks and ensure the company's operations remain within legal boundaries.
- Third-Party Tool Management: Manage and optimize third-party compliance tools and software. This includes evaluating, selecting, implementing, and maintaining these tools to enhance compliance monitoring and reporting.
- Training and Education: Provide training and educational programs to the organization's employees to ensure a strong understanding of legal and compliance requirements.
- Policy Development: Develop and maintain company policies and procedures that align with legal and regulatory requirements. Ensure that these policies are communicated effectively throughout the organization.
- Reporting and Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive records and reports related to legal and compliance activities. Prepare reports for senior management and external stakeholders as required.
- Cross-functional collaboration: Collaborate with various departments, such as finance, HR, and operations, to ensure legal and compliance considerations are integrated into business decisions and processes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in law; a master's degree or relevant certifications is a plus. A minimum of 8-10 years of qualification experience (PQE) in a legal and compliance role, with a focus on disputes and compliance management.
- Strong knowledge of relevant industry-specific regulations and laws. Experience in managing and optimizing third-party compliance tools and software.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills. Strong leadership and decision-making abilities.
- Detail-oriented and proactive with excellent problem-solving skills.
