nRole Summary:n

The Senior Manager - Business Development for the Solar Business will play a crucial role in drivingn
nthe growth of the company's solar energy portfolio. This position involves identifying new businessn
nopportunities, building strategic partnerships, and leading efforts to secure and develop solar energyn
nprojects. The Senior Manager will be responsible for developing and executing strategies to expandn
nthe company's presence in the solar market, working closely with cross-functional teams to ensuren
nsuccessful project acquisition and execution.

nResponsibilities:n

  • Market Analysis & Strategy Development:n
  • Conduct comprehensive market analysis to identify trends, opportunities, and potentialn
challenges in the solar energy sector.n
  • Develop and implement business development strategies to achieve growth targets inn
utility-scale, commercial, and industrial solar projects.n
  • Identify and assess new markets and regions for solar project development and expansion.n
  • Opportunity Identification & Project Development:n
  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities for solar PV projects, including greenfieldn
developments, acquisitions, and partnerships.n
  • Lead the evaluation, due diligence, and negotiation of new solar projects, ensuringn
alignment with the company's strategic objectives.n
  • Manage the development of project proposals, presentations, and bids in response to RFPsn
(Request for Proposals) and other client inquiries.n
  • Relationship Management:n
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including clients,n
government agencies, utilities, landowners, financial institutions, and EPC (Engineering,n
nProcurement, and Construction) partners.n
  • Act as the primary point of contact for clients and partners, ensuring clear communicationn
and fostering long-term partnerships.n
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and meetings to enhance itsn
visibility and credibility in the solar energy market.n
  • Contract Negotiation & Closing:n
  • Lead negotiations for commercial agreements, including power purchase agreementsn
(PPAs), land lease agreements, and joint ventures.n
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:n
  • Collaborate with internal teams, including engineering, finance, legal, and operations, ton
ensure the successful development and execution of solar projects.n
  • Provide business development insights and market intelligence to support project planningn
and decision-making processes.n
  • Support the Head of Business Development in strategic planning and reporting.

  • Team Leadership & Development:n
  • Mentor and develop junior business development professionals, fostering a culture ofn
continuous learning and high performance.n
  • Set clear goals and performance metrics for the business development team, providingn
regular feedback and guidance.n
  • Assist in recruiting and onboarding new team members as the business developmentn
function grows.n
  • Financial Oversight & Reporting:n
  • Develop and manage budgets for business development activities, ensuring effectiven
allocation of resources.n
  • Prepare financial models and business cases to support investment decisions and projectn
approvals.n
  • Provide regular updates to senior management on the status of business developmentn
activities, including pipeline development, project milestones, and financial performance.n

Education and Experience Requirements:n

Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in business administration, Renewable Energy,n
nEngineering, or a related field. An MBA or equivalent advanced degree is a plus.n
n
nExperience: Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in business development, with a focus on then
nsolar energy or renewable energy sector. Proven track record in securing and developing solar PVn
nprojects is required.n
n
nSkills & Expertise:n
n
nStrong understanding of the solar energy industry, including market dynamics, regulatoryn
nrequirements, and technology trends.n
n
n
  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.n
  • Proficiency in financial modelling, project evaluation, and contract negotiation.n
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders at all levels.n

nOther: Willingness to travel frequently for client meetings, site visits, and industry events.
