Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Linux Server Administrator with a deep understanding of system architecture, best practices, and the ability to manage large-scale computing solutions. The successful candidate will be adept in hands-on implementation, daily management, and troubleshooting across various areas of server and system management.
Key Responsibilities
- Linux Server Management: Install, configure, and maintain Linux servers and workstations.
- Storage Systems: Install, configure, and manage storage systems, ensuring optimal performance and effective capacity planning.
- System Performance: Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and maintain the optimal functioning of Linux systems.
- Network Configuration: Configure and troubleshoot network settings and protocols, including DNS, DHCP, and TCP/IP.
- Hardware Knowledge: Understand hardware aspects of Rack/Blade Servers and Storage.
- Virtualization: Experience with VMware, including installation, configuration, day-to-day management, and troubleshootingof the virtualization setup.
- Networking Basics: Understand VLANs, tagging, and basic network requirements.
- High Availability Solutions: Build and manage high availability (HA) solutions or clusters on servers, databases, and hypervisors.
- Security: Implement and maintain server, storage, and device hardening based on evolving security baselines.
- Patch Management: Oversee patch management processes.
- Anti-virus Management: Deploy and manage anti-virus solutions.
- Backup and Recovery: Manage backup solutions, perform regular data backups, and develop and test disaster recovery plans.
- Email Solutions: Basic understanding of email technologies and solutions.
- Vendor Coordination: Collaborate with third-party vendors for application deployment and other solutions, ensuring adherence to best practices and security policies.
- Additional Technologies: Knowledge of databases, web server technologies, and application servers is a plus.
- Industry Experience: Experience in capital markets or BFSI (Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance) sectors is advantageous.
- Service Level Agreements (SLAs): Understand and adhere to SLAs.
- Monitoring Solutions: Familiarity with monitoring and management solutions, including defining parameters, thresholds, and alerting mechanisms.
- Daily Processes: Create and manage daily checklists for all processes.
- Communication: Exhibit strong communication skills and coordination abilities, preferably multilingual. Demonstrate sensitivity to requirements and the ability to prioritize, address, and escalate issues efficiently.
Experience Required
- Total Experience: 4 to 8 years.
- Relevant Experience: At least 3 to 5 years of independent experience as a System Administrator.
