Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Java Developer to join our team in Trivandrum. This role demands strong Java development skills and a good understanding of insurance industry requirements.

Job Summary

As a Senior Java Developer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining Java applications. You will work closely with business analysts, project managers, and other developers to deliver high-quality solutions that meet the needs of our clients.

Key Responsibilities

- Participate in the migration of legacy systems to the Guidewire platform.

- Develop and implement new features and enhancements in Java.

- Maintain and support Java applications, ensuring high performance and responsiveness.

- Maintain and support the Guidewire platform, focusing on Policy, Billing, and Claims modules.

- Collaborate with team members to tackle challenges particularly in the Policy and Billing modules.

- Ensure high-quality code and adherence to best practices.

- Handle a broad book of work covering various areas of Guidewire and Cloud platforms.

- Engage in both project work and BAU (Business As Usual) tasks.

Required Qualifications

• Education:

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

• Experience:

- 6-7 years of experience in Java development with a proven track record of high-quality work.

- Experience in the insurance industry, particularly with personal and/or commercial lines.

• Technical Skills:

- Proficiency in Java, Spring, Hibernate, and SQL.

- Experience with XML, SOAP, REST, and other integration technologies.

- Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.

- Cloud experience with AWS is highly desirable.

Soft Skills:

- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

- Leadership abilities and experience in mentoring junior developers.

Preferred Qualifications

- Experience with Guidewire platform, especially Policy, Billing, and Claims modules is a plus.

- Knowledge of insurance domain and business processes.
