Role Overview
The Senior IT Specialist will be responsible for managing and resolving high-level technical issues, supporting end-users, and ensuring the smooth operation of IT infrastructure in AMETEK India and Middle East. This role is ideal for a seasoned IT professional with a strong technical background and excellent troubleshooting skills. The ideal candidate will contribute to optimizing processes, driving system improvements, and collaborating with global teams to uphold best practices.
Key Responsibilities- Technical Support:
- Act as the primary point of contact for resolving complex technical issues and escalations.
- Provide hands-on support for IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, hardware, and software applications.
- Troubleshoot and resolve incidents within established SLAs, ensuring a high standard of service delivery.
- System & Infrastructure Maintenance:
- Oversee system updates, patches, and upgrades, and monitor systems to ensure reliability and security.
- Collaborate with IT teams globally to maintain network integrity and optimize system performance.
- Manage and support corporate IT infrastructure, including Windows, Linux, and Mac environments.
- Project Support:
- Assist in the implementation of new technologies, enhancements, and integrations.
- Lead or participate in IT projects such as network upgrades, infrastructure deployments, and system migrations.
- Ensure projects are completed within budget and timelines, maintaining minimal disruption to business operations.
- Security & Compliance:
- Ensure that IT support processes adhere to company security policies and regulatory requirements.
- Support data protection and compliance initiatives, including regular audits and risk assessments.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in IT support, system administration, or a related role, preferably from Manufacturing industry.
- Strong proficiency in Windows, and preferably in Linux, and/or Mac OS environments.
- Hands-on experience with networking, Active Directory, Office 365, and virtualization technologies (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V).
- Familiarity with ITIL practices and certifications such as ITIL, CompTIA, or Microsoft are a plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a strong commitment to delivering outstanding customer service.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical users.
- Experience with security and compliance best practices.
