What's the role
Our team is a multi-cultural, globally dispersed team whose members span different countries around the world. As a team, we support a wide array of training material development requests within the HERE organization. Our focus is developing technical training material, both online and instructor led, for HERE's production centers in India, Mexico and Netherlands, and global content as well.
The Senior Instructional Designer will play a pivotal role in designing, developing, and implementing instructional materials and learning experiences. This role requires a deep understanding of instructional design principles, adult learning theory, and technology integration. The ideal candidate will possess strong project management skills, creativity, and a passion for creating engaging and effective learning solutions.
Key Responsibilities
Instructional Design:
- Lead the design and development of comprehensive and learner centric & user-friendly instructional materials, including eLearning modules, training manuals, and multimedia content.
- Apply instructional design models and theories to create engaging and effective learning experiences
- Collaborate with subject matter experts (SMEs) to ensure content accuracy and relevance.
Project Management
- Oversee multiple instructional design projects from conception through delivery, ensuring alignment with project goals, timelines, and budget.
- Develop and manage project plans, including schedules, resources, and risk management.
Content Development
- Create and revise instructional content to ensure clarity, consistency, and adherence to learning objectives.
- Utilize various authoring tools and learning management systems (LMS) to develop and deliver content.
- Develop an understanding of HERE software production platforms and data specifications.
Assessment And Evaluation
- Analyze feedback and learning outcomes to continuously improve instructional design and delivery methods.
- Design and implement assessment tools to measure learner progress and the effectiveness of instructional materials
Collaboration And Communication
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including training managers, graphic designers, and technology specialists, to deliver high-quality learning solutions, analyze needs and recommend appropriate training strategies.
- Present and explain design concepts, prototypes, and finished products to stakeholders and clients.
Research And Innovation
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in instructional design and eLearning.
- Experiment with new tools and methodologies to enhance the effectiveness and engagement of learning solutions.
Who are you
- Any Graduate with over 5 years of working experience including 3+ Years of global e xperience in Instructional Design (Training development, design and delivery)
- Requires in-depth conceptual and practical knowledge in own discipline and basic knowledge of related disciplines . Works independently, with minimal guidance . May lead projects or project steps within a broader project; acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience.
- Relevant degrees include Training & Development, e-Learning (Computer/Web-based learning) or related instructional design degrees. Certification in Instructional Design is preferred
- Has knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; is aware of the competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market.
- Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience; may lead small projects with manageable risks and resources.
- Solves complex problems; takes a new perspective on existing solutions; exercises judgment based on the analysis of multiple sources of information.
- Knowledge of instructional design theories and appropriate skills for content design
- Basic knowledge of e-Learning solutions ( e.g. Articulate, Storyline, Rise, Camtasia, Speechify, Adobe Creative Cloud, Vyond , HTML, Flash, Cornerstone Learning Management Systems) is required
- Experience in a training or classroom environment preferred
- Knowledge of HTML, Java, Flash programming and multimedia development skills preferred ( e.g. editing video)
