A Senior Infrastructure Engineer in this field must have a strong understanding of both the conceptual and practical aspects of OpenStack and Linux, from cloud infrastructure to deep system-level troubleshooting, with the ability to scale and optimize systems for performance and security. Competence in Windows, Active Directory (AD), and storage solutions is also essential for success in this position.
You will:
- Design and Implement Architectures: Develop robust cloud architectures and drive implementations that support user initiatives, including the optimization of OpenStack and Linux-based solutions.
- Provide Expert Technical Support: Deliver advanced technical support and guidance to clients, ensuring successful deployment, operation, and optimization of cloud infrastructure solutions.
- Troubleshoot Complex Issues: Diagnose and resolve complex issues within OpenStack environments, Linux systems, Windows, and AD infrastructures, including hardware, software, and networking-related challenges.
- Maintain Technical Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including architecture designs, deployment guides, and troubleshooting manuals.
- Translate Business Needs: Translate business requirements into technical solutions, ensuring alignment between business goals and infrastructure design.
- Risk Analysis & Long-Term Planning: Analyze user technologies, assess business needs, participate in risk assessments, and contribute to long-term project planning and infrastructure development.
- Stay Current with Industry Trends: Keep up with emerging technologies and industry best practices to drive continuous innovation and improvement within the team.
- Collaborate with Global Teams: Work with cross-functional teams worldwide to ensure global consistency and adherence to infrastructure best practices.
To be successful in the role you must have:
- Linux Proficiency: Strong expertise in Linux Operating Systems, including deep knowledge of distributions such as Ubuntu, CentOS, Debian, and Red Hat. Solid understanding of the Linux file system hierarchy and system administration tasks.
- Linux Server Management: Proven experience in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of Linux servers, ensuring optimal performance and uptime.
- Windows and AD Competence: Proficiency in managing Windows servers and Active Directory, including user and group management, domain services, and associated troubleshooting.
- Cloud Technologies Expertise: Familiarity with cloud platforms and technologies, especially private cloud infrastructures like OpenStack and hybrid cloud environments.
- Hardware Troubleshooting: Proficiency in hardware debugging tools and techniques, with the ability to resolve complex hardware-related issues.
- Storage Solutions: Experience with storage management, including SAN, NAS, and other enterprise storage solutions.
- Virtualization & Containerization: Experience with virtualization technologies such as KVM and VMware, along with proficiency in containerization tools like Docker and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes.
