Senior Game Designer (7+ years of experience)
Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and innovative Senior Game Designer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in game design, a passion for creating immersive gameplay experiences, and a proven track record of successfully bringing games from concept to launch. As a Senior Game Designer, you will play a key role in shaping the direction of our projects, mentoring junior designers, and collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality games that resonate with players.
Responsibilities:
Game Design Leadership and Mentoring:
- Lead the conceptualization and design of gameplay mechanics, systems, and features that align with the game's vision.
- Provide creative direction and mentorship to junior designers, guiding them in developing their skills and contributing to the overall design process.
- Collaborate with the creative and development teams to ensure that the design vision is consistently executed throughout the game's development.
Detailed Game Design Documentation:
- Create and maintain detailed design documents, including game mechanics, level layouts, user interfaces, progression systems, and more.
- Communicate design concepts effectively to team members from various disciplines, ensuring a clear understanding of gameplay goals and mechanics.
Prototyping and Iteration:
- Rapidly prototype and iterate on gameplay concepts to test their viability and refine the player experience.
- Analyze player feedback and playtest results to make informed design decisions that enhance the game's quality.
Level Balancing and Tuning of Gameplay Mechanics:
- Fine-tune gameplay mechanics, systems, and difficulty levels to ensure a satisfying and engaging player experience.
- Collaborate with data analysts to analyze player behavior and make data-driven adjustments to game balance.
- Proper knowledge of Player progress growth and D1-D7 retention plan.
Cross-Functional Team Collaboration:
- Work closely with artists, programmers, writers, and other team members to integrate design elements seamlessly into the game's development pipeline.
- Foster open communication and collaboration among different departments to ensure a cohesive and polished final product.
Good study of Player-Centric Design:
- Advocate for the player's perspective throughout the design process, focusing on creating meaningful and enjoyable experiences that resonate with the target audience.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 7+ years experience in game design roles, with a proven track record of designing and shipping F2P games.
- Strong portfolio showcasing your design work on released games, demonstrating your ability to craft engaging gameplay mechanics and systems.
- Expertise in designing for various genres, platforms, and gameplay styles.
- Proficiency in industry-standard design tools such as Unity, Unreal Engine, or equivalent.
- In-depth understanding of game mechanics, player psychology, and user-centered design principles.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and teamwork skills.
- Ability to provide and receive constructive feedback in a collaborative environment.
- Leadership and mentoring experience, with a passion for fostering the growth of junior team members.
